I decided I'm going to carry on from the last short story so all the gladers survived and are at paradise.

I wrote this before the fever code so yeah I'm not changing it just pretend they're not related and shit

~Newts POV~

Was this really happening?! I ran through the green fields of paradise for the twentieth time that day, looking for Minho and Thomas. Since my leg had healed I was always moving, it was as if I was a toddler again after just learning to walk - I just couldn't sit there for fear of gaining a limp again and loosing the freedom that came with it. I eventually spotted them walking through the fields ahead of me.

"GUYS" I yelled at them. They turned round and waited for me to catch up with them.

"You'll never guess what. I'm going on a date!"

"No fair you never gave us time to guess" Tommy said playfully.

"You...got a date...before me... What is wrong with that girl..I'm way more attractive."

"Minny's getting jealous. Who is this 'girl' anyway?"

"It's Sonya!"

Minho's jaw dropped. "Sonya. Going on a date. With you...... Just kidding buddy, congratulations! My little boys got his first date aww I'm so proud." He ruffled my hair with a smirk on his face

"Don't. Touch. The. Hair"

My head had gone from calm to panicked in the space of 3 seconds. What was I supposed to do? What if I messed up my first date. It was a wonder I had even managed to ask her earlier, but that was a piece of cake compared to now. I should of thought this through. Did I still have time to run? I don't think she has seen me y-

"Hey newt."

Too late

"Err hi Sonya." I turned round to face her. She had taken her long, blonde hair out of her usual side plait. Her faced was clear of any nerves and she had a large smile on her face. Looking at her now reminded me of back in the mountains, just as Minho was taken from us by WICKED. She was an amazing fighter. She wouldn't let anyone come between her and her friends and I loved that about her. She was so caring and put her life at risk for anyone. Not that I would ever let her do that for me of course.

"So err..I thought we could maybe go to my house. I borrowed some DVD's and we can order a pizza or something. Don't worry if you dont want to or do something else I don't mind if yo-"

"I would love to newt" she cut me off with a genuine smile on her face. I smiled back and she took my hand as I lead her towards my house.

"So um I got borrowed these films. Or would you rather watch another? I can go and get another if you want?"

"Newt calm down, I don't mind what film we watch, all the ones you brought look great. Seriously stop panicking."

I smiled. She was right, I needed to calm my nerves and stop blubbering on like a babbling baboon and just enjoy the evening. I put the DVD into the player and sat on the couch beside Sonya to enjoy the moment.
