"Wake up momma!!" Riley yelled jumping up and down next to her mother. Abby groaned and wrapped her arm around Riley's waist and tugged her down on the mattress. Riley giggled as she squirmed against Abby's hold on her. After a couple minuets of struggle Riley finally broke free and laid down next to her mom. "Mommy!" She yelled even louder and poked her cheek repeatedly. Soon Devin's eyes fluttered open, when she saw Riley she smiled and stretched.
"You sleep good baby?" She asked through a yawn. Riley nodded her head then jumped back up and launched herself at Abby. Devin laughed at the way that Riley tried to wake up her aunt. She had grabbed a pillow and slammed it over and over on Abby's face. Finally Abby sat up and slammed her own pillow down on Devin.
"What was that for?"
"She's your child. She learned that from you obviously." She grumbled and trudged her way out of the room. Devin had to admit that this was true. She used to wake up Abby the same way when they were children. She sighed and pushed herself up from the floor, different joints popped as she stood up.
As she headed to the bathroom she couldn't help but think back to yesterday and how well things had gone. She liked that George had ended up accepting the fact that Riley was his. It made Devin feel a lot better about her overall choice to let him into Riley's life and vice versa. Once she closed the bathroom door she began her morning routine of washing her face, brushing her teeth, and taming her hair back into a sloppy bun. When she opened the door she saw Riley sitting in front of the door. "Ready to brush your teeth munchkin?" Riley nodded her head and ran into the bathroom. After Devin had helped Riley brush her teeth and brush out her hair they went back to the room to pick out her outfit.
"So what's on the agenda for today?" Abby asked setting her phone down beside her. Honestly Devin hadn't really planned anything out for today since all she could think about was getting George and Riley to meet each other.
She shrugged saying, "Don't know yet. What do you want to do?"
"Oh I don't know," Abby began in a dreamy tone. "meet a handsome man, have a hot steamy romance then flee home at midnight." Devin laughed and shook her head at Abby then gave her a pointed look. Thankfully Riley wasn't paying either of them no mind and playing with her dolls.
Devin looked down at her daughter and smiled. "Riley what would you like to do today?"
Riley dropped her dolls and thought about this for a minuet before yelling, "George!" Her eyes looked full of happiness as she held her moms gaze.
Devin shook her head. "Well I did tell him that he could see her today."
"I'll call him, you finish getting her dressed." Abby said taking Devin's phone off its charger.
"Devin?" George answered on the third ring.
"Hey, no it's Abby. Her sister."
"Oh. Hey what's up?"
"Nothing really, just Riley wants to see you is all."
"That's great! How about I pick you three up and we'll all go for breakfast? On me of course."
She looked over at Devin and repeated the plans back to her. Devin nodded her head in agreement and continued to get ready. "Yeah we're cool with that."
"Alright I'll be by shortly. Think you could text me the address?"
"Yeah I'll send it as soon as possible." With that they both said goodbye and hung up the phone. Quickly she sent George the address and went to go get ready herself.
Once they were all dressed Devin grabbed her keys and Riley's car seat from the hall closet. She made sure that she had everything she needed before walking out the door and locking it. Abby held Riley's hand as they walked down to the main lobby of the apartment building. When they stepped out of the stairwell she noticed that an old blue truck was parked out front, George leaned on the side of it. When Riley saw him she smiled wide and ran to the door. George met her there and opened it wide enough for her to walk through. Devin caught up to them and held the door for Abby so that George could pick up Riley.
