George glanced up in the rear view mirror and watched Riley as danced around in her car seat. She waved her little arms around and head banged as best as she could to his music. Danny and Theresa smiled and laughed at Riley's little performance.
Reese looked up at Danny in the driver's seat and wondered to herself what it would be like to have a child with him. No part of her doubted that he would be an amazing father, she just wondered if at some point he would want to become a father himself. The whole idea of having a family with him made an everlasting smile appear on her face. At one point Danny caught her looking at him, he smiled back at his girlfriend and gave her a flirty wink causing her to blush a deep red. George saw this little exchange and shoved Danny's shoulder lightly.
"You're so whipped man." He teased Danny.
"Whatever." The blonde mumbled and shoved George back a bit harder.
"Easy boys, we've got precious cargo on board." Reese scolded them.
About a half hour later Danny slowed the car down in front of Devin's apartment building. Both George and Theresa got out of the car and walked up to the building to let Devin know they were there. From the car Riley watched the door like a hawk, waiting for her mother's figure to appear. Shortly after George had pressed the buzzer Devin came downstairs with a bag slung over her shoulder that contained extra outside toys for Riley.
"Hey, she in the car?" Devin asked, George nodded and hooked his thumb over his shoulder. Devin smiled brightly and jogged over to Danny's car.
"Mommy!" Riley exclaimed once the car door was opened.
"Hey baby, you look gorgeous!" Devin smiled down at the four year old and picked her up out of her seat.
"Thank you mommy."
"Who picked out your outfit?"
"Aunt Reese and uncle Danny helped me this morning while daddy slept."
"Really? Why don't you show off your outfit sweetie?"
Riley looked absolutely adorable wearing a white sundress with a skull pattern, little black bows on the shoulder straps, black and white converse shoes, and her hair pulled up in pigtails. While Riley paraded around the sidewalk, twirling and striking poses Devin thanked Theresa and Danny for their help, then put the bag in the backseat.
"Okay munchkin lets get you back in your seat okay? Uncle Danny is going to take you to see aunt Vanessa today." Devin said holding her arms out to Riley, she smiled wider and held onto her moms hand as they walked back over to the car."Here, I'll do that." George offered, Devin nodded and stepped back. She looked over at Theresa and motioned for her to follow her.
"Thanks for helping George this morning." She said walking further away from George and Riley.
"It was no problem, me and Danny love spending time with Riley."
This brought a smile to Devin's face. She loved that George's friends were taking to Riley so easily and offering to help him, but she couldn't help but wonder why he needed help from her and Danny this morning. Did something happen with Asia last night? Could she have left for work early? Or did they get into a fight that caused George to drink away his problems? Honestly the latter scared Devin a bit more than it probably should have. She sighed mentally and tried her best to push away all of those negative thoughts.
"You okay?" Reese asked, snapping Devin from her thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm just- just worried is all."
