Now She's Just A Shell

She used to be so strong,

She never cried, she lied and moved along.

She used to be so brave,

Put on a face, had taken risks, wouldn't cave.

She always smiled,

Even when it was hard, she'd stay crazy, happy and wild.

She used to be so tough, like nails.

She was the one people could count on.

She could be a rock, she could be their tree,

she'd be whatever she needed to be.

Now her eyes are so tired she can hardly see.

Her throat is sore from sobbing, her arms and legs are weak.

She can't eat, she can't sleep, she can't think.

Everything hurts, she's tried everything but nothing works.

She'll never be the same, she hates who she's become,

it had taken a few mistakes and everything went wrong.

Breathing is exhausting, she's an anxious wreck.

Her chest is sore from coughing,

But she can't give up just yet.

She's trying to be stronger, she's trying to get better.

There has to be some sunshine in this stormy weather.

Yes, she might be just a shell. . .

But you know damn good and well,

she'll to everything she can to stand on her own two feet again,

Even if that means walking bare foot through hell.
