Chapter 26. Family Matters

So there I was actually havin the time of my life gettin to know all of the family I never knew I had. They were all crazy, loud, VERY outspoken(this must be where I get it from), funny, nice, sweet, and most of all REAL. The thing that shocked me most was the fact that I told them I was gay off top, and everybody seemed to be cool with it. Of course all the men had there little smart comments about it at first, but hey this is me take it or leave it. I couldnt believe that I was actually gettin along with everybody, but I clicked wit my cousin Emoly the best. Emoly was light skinned like Reggie, and her hair was black wit red highlights. She was a very pretty girl to say the least wit a body like j-lo back when she was datin diddy. She was kinda quiet like me, but once we were around eachother for a while u couldnt get us to shut up. Aside from her, and Reggie though there was my aunt Regina(Reggie's mom), my aunt Megan(Emoly's mom), their husbands. My cousins DJ, Duke, and Demark all of which where Emoly's older brothers. Then there was Nesha, Yvette, and Tiffany. They were Reggie's older sisters, and almost everybody was light skinned except for Demark, Duke, and I. In case your wondering my dad was the baby of the bunch which is why I'm one of the youngest. Then there was my uncle Tim, and his son James. James Was younger than us prolly like 16 or 17, and he reminded me a lot of my self only more thuggish. Almost all of the men looked just like my dad with their strong jaw structure, wavy hair, and dark brown eyes. They were all a lot taller than me too some being 6'1" and others 6'4". James was even taller than me, but I guess thats just another trait that I didnt get from my dads side of the family.

Em: So do u have a boyfriend?
Yatta: Yea Reggie actually goes with his twin.
Em: U go wit that fine ass boy!? Oh I remember when I had a crush on him, but then I found out he didnt play for my team and my feelings were hurt.
Yatta: U crazy.(i laughed) Yea thats my baby though, and u would never think it but he is so sweet.
Em: Its always the thug niggas that be softies.(she laughed) My baby like that too.
Yatta: U got a boyfriend?
Em: Yup been together for almost a year now.
Yatta: Thats wussup me and Tae goin on four months.
Em: Awww yall still fresh.
Yatta: Shut up.(i laughed) Hey Em whats wrong wit James?
Em: What u mean?
Yatta: He seems real secluded from the rest of the family.
Em: Hes always been like that even when we were little, but nobody really knows why.
Yatta: He reminds me of how I act around my moms side of the family. I cant fuckin stand them.(i said twistin up my face without realizin it)
Em: Clearly.(she laughed) U think he dont like us or somethin though?
Yatta: I didnt say that, but I dont know. I'll go ask him.
Em: No dont do that he kind of has an attitude problem.(she warned)
Yatta: So do I.(i laughed)

I got up and walked over to him, and he mugged me when he noticed me coming. Honestly I dont know why I was compelled to talk to him, but I just felt like I had too. 

Yatta: Wussup James.

He just looked at me for a while and then nodded his head.

Yatta: Okay....Why u over here by yo self?
James: Just like bein alone, and i got a lot on my mind.
Yatta: Do u play ball?
James: Yea just a lil bit.
Yatta: U wanna go shoot around outside for a while?
James: I guess.(he said nonchalant)

I guess this is a start at least he's nicer than I use to be. While we were just foolin around I noticed that he was pretty good, and just when I was about to ask him a few questions he beat me to the punch.

James: So u gay?(he said shootin the ball)
Yatta: Uh...yea...is that a problem?
James: Nah its koo we family. How u so comfortable wit it though like u aint scared of what people might say about u?
Yatta: I never really cared what people said about me, and I've always been a loner until recently.
James: Im sayin though aint nobody ever tried to fuck wit u?
Yatta: Of course they have, but fortunately for me I had a friend that nobody fucked wit. That and im kind of crazy my damn self.(i laughed)
James: Guess that runs in the family.(he laughed)
Yatta: Why u askin all those questions though, are u gay?
