Chapter 32: Faked Out

Katsuko's POV:

We figure before we go pick up Saruko, we must go make sure the Fallout Shelter still hasnt been too busy. We dont want to get Saruko then go see the place his powers were taken.

We walk down the stairway and peer around the corner, we see Hideki and the Governor talking.

"So we are close to ending these monster's lives?" The Governor asked.

"It appears so..." Hideki said.

"We dont want those beasts taking over, now do we?" Hideki asked.

"No. Never." The Governor said in a stern tone.

Wait, but Hideki wants to take over after the power creatures are dead..I bet he's tricking the Governor..

"We better go back to get Saruko." Hiroki whispers softly.

I nod in agreement.

We drive over to the hospital and pick up Saruko. The nurse says that he has amnesia and may not remember what has happened.

"Hello, Saruko!" I say in a happy yet unsure tone.

"Uh hi, Katsuko!" He said kind of confused.

"Sorry, Its just...nevermind.." I shook my head.

"Im sorry about your powers dude...it was all my fa--" Hiroki tried to say.

"What? Powers?" Saruko said.

Hiroki looked in shock..

"Oh wait.. nevermind about that too..." Hiroki said, remembering Saruko has amnesia.

"Okay....lets just go home.." Saruko said.

He must not remember even having powers..

We dropped him off at Hiroki's house and we watched TV.

The weather channel was left on by my dad, so we watched.

"The weather pattern has been really unpredictable lately, it seems foreign toxins were released into the air, in small portions but they are increasing.." The weather man said.

I looked at Hiroki in fear.

"ZexEN..." I say.

"Zex what?" Saruko chuckled.

Hiroki and I ran out of the house with no question and sped to the Fallout shelter.

I felt bad for leaving Saruko, but this is serious.

We came to the shelter and the doors were locked. We slammed and yelled on the doors as loud as we could.

Hideki chuckled from the inside and said,

"Heh...I see you're here to see me?"

"LET US IN." I growled, at the brink of becoming a wolf.

"Hmmm no thanks!" He said.

I growled and broke down the door.

"Dont test me, Hideki." I growled.

"Seriously. Stop it." Hiroki said.

Just then, Hideki became a kraken, how? Im not sure at the moment..

"HOW?!" Hiroki yelled.

Hideki did not reply, he just picked up Hiroki and slammed him against a wall.

I became my wolf form and bit at the tentacle that was holding Hiroki, causing Hideki to drop Hiroki. Hiroki fell to the ground and groaned in pain.

"Ergh.." He said.

Hiroki's POV:

My vision is blurry, I can barely see whats infront of me.

Just then I see Saruko.

"Sar--uko?" I said.

He stared down at me and then flew into the air and pushed Saruko against the wall.

"SARUKO??" Katsuko yelled.

"Hey guys!" Saruko said.

He then went invisible and flipped Hideki to the ground, causing Hideki to go into human form.

"Cmon!" Saruko said.

Katsuko ran over and cut a few wires and the machine distributing the ZexEN was broken.

"WE HAVE A BETTER PLAN, GOVERNOR, DONT LISTEN TO HIM HES A LIAR, HE WANTS TO KILL YOU!" Katsuko warned.

Shortly after, I felt a slight stab, like a needle, in my side.

I begin to black out...
