It was getting late, so we sent Hiroki home. The cold air got more bitter and untamed as night took its place.
I went to sleep just a few minutes after he left. I had a rough day, I needed even just a few hours of "shut-eye."
Before I knew it, the sun had risen. It snowed ALL night last night. There was a soft, fresh blanket of snow on the ground. In the morning, I walked over to Hiroki's house..
I rang the doorbell twice..
*RING RING*
The door opened, slowly.
"Hey, Its cold outside." I said.
"Yea..I mean it is winter." He said, laughing a bit.
"Haha. Yea.." I said.
"So do you know who can help us?" He asked.
"Was I supposed to ask around for help?!" I thought in my head.
"Uhh...Not quite yet.." I said.
"Oh. Same.." He said.
"Im still confused. Why are these mythical krakens attacking US?" I asked.
"No one knows for sure.. Theyve been raging for centuries, but no one has even bothered to figure out why.. Can I ask you something?" He said.
"Y-yea..what is it?" I asked.
"How come your so...ambitious? Having huge dreams can ruin your self asteem if they dont see through." He said.
"Well, Its either make it, or break it...and we ARE going to make it." I said.
"Heh..I just dont want you to get hurt. I know we've only been friends for a short while but, I care about you, Katsuko.." He said, with a smile.
"I care about you too, but you dont have to baby me.." I said.
"Im not trying too...I just...Worry.." He said.
"About what, Hiroki?" I asked.
"I dont think you get it." He said.
"Get what?!" I asked.
"...I care too much..." He said.
"I see.. I care about you too, but you have to let me fly free." I said.
"I know...im sorry, I just wanted to ask." He said.
"So, how are we gonna defend Nao?" I asked.
