Janette woke up in her bed, surrounded by pillows and blankets. She spotted Aljaz sitting next to her, looking into her eyes. "Hey bucka, how are you feeling?" He whispered gently, stroking her forehead carefully. "How did I get here?" Janette questioned, rubbing her eyes. "Well, you kind of... Collapsed. In the middle of a bar." Aljaz smiled. Janette yawned a little and then asked, "Well then Doctor Skorjanec, am I allowed to get up now?" She giggled a little, as Aljaz pretended to contemplate the request. "How about... No. Not until you give me a kiss!" Janette leaned in, shaking with laughter, and kissed Aljaz on the lips. He then jumped up, helped Janette up and out of the bed.

"Ooh, nope. No. Can't see." Janette fussed as she blacked out for a moment as the blood rushed to her legs. She overbalanced and flopped onto the bed one again, however still conscious this time. Aljaz held her hands until she regained her vision after the momentary dizziness had passed. "That certainly was unusual." Aljaz said, whilst walking with his fiancee to the kitchen area.

"Sit on the sofa, and I'll get you some water sweetie." He said, helping Janette sit herself amongst many pillows on their sofa. He headed off to the sink to grab her a cup of water when less than two seconds later he heard her footsteps sprinting to the bathroom and slamming the door.

Leaving the cup on the counter, Aljaz ran to the door, banging it whilst shouting "Bucka, open up, what's wrong?!" Putting his ear against the door, he heard muffled retching noises. "Bucka, please, let me in." He pleaded, rattling the door handle. "Just... A minute." Janette groaned. A few seconds later, Aljaz heard the whoosh of the flush and the door clicking open. Janette practically fell into his arms, tears streaming down her face. "Shhh, bucka, it's okay, it'll be fine." Aljaz comforted her whilst wrapping his arms around her back. "I'm fine now. I think." Janette gulped, looking up at Aljaz's kindly face. She produced a weak smile but was interrupted by the feeling of nausea overtaking. Gaggin, she broke away from Aljaz's embrace and crouched by the toilet once more. Aljaz ran in behind her and held back her hair, all the while speaking calm words of reassurance.

Rinsing her mouth out, Janette exited the bathroom, Aljaz waiting outside the door for her. Her skin was deathly pale and her hands were all clammy. "Bucka..." Aljaz started. "Are you sick?" He continued. "Or..." He stopped, stammered a little bit and continued, "Or are you... Could you be... pregnant?" He stared at his fiancee, clearly shaken by the whole event. "I-I don't know." Janette piped up, "Maybe."

Aljaz walked towards her and pulled her into a hug. "Let's see how you are for the next ten minutes and if you're okay, I'll nip down to Boots and pick up a few tests. Then we'll know for sure." He said, kissing her on the forehead. Janette nodded, before burying her face in his chest. "Come on, let's go get you cleaned up."

*Twenty-Five Minutes Later*

Janette heard the lock in the door click and saw Aljaz enter, holding a bag marked 'Boots' containing, presumably, the tests. She placed her cup of water down on the table in front of her and walked over to him. "Here we go, eh?" Aljaz said, smiling as he handed Janette the bag. She smiled back at him weakly, before he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek as she disappeared into the bathroom.

Five minutes later, she emerged. "We have to wait a couple minutes for a result." She explained, walking into Aljaz's embrace once again. "What if it is... You know, positive?" She mumbled. "The what happens?" Aljaz looked down at his now visibly worried fiancee. "What happens is," He started, "Ee get to have a beautiful child of our own together. Sure, it may be tough, and it isn't exactly what we planned but every once in a while spontaneous is good." He finished, feeling Janette physically relax in his arms. "I was so worried you would be angry, or that you would leave me if it were a positive." Janette said, looking up into Aljaz's gaze. "Hey," Aljaz started, cupping Janette's face in his hand, "I will always be here for you. Always. I made a promise didn't I? You and Me, always, remember?" "You and me always." Janette confirmed.

"Uh, I guess it's been five minutes." Janette announced, tensing up once more. Aljaz spoke, whilst reaching for Janette's hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I'm here with you, no matter what." Janette smiled back at him, before pushing the slightly ajar bathroom door open. Entering the room, she walked towards the three tests lined up neatly along the sink. Janette sighed deeply, before reaching towards one to read the result. Sure enough, two red lines had appeared on the little display. She then picked up the other two. The same, double red lines were imprinted on their screens. She turned around to face her fiance, who was standing out in the hallway, hands clenched with nerves. "Bucko," She began, "Positive." Aljaz laughed, smiled and cried all at once. He ran into the bathroom and lifted his fiancee off her feet and swung her round, tears of happiness streaming down both their faces.

Placing her on the floor, he hugged her tight, before composing himself. He wiped the tears and looked down at Janette. "We're having a baby!" He said, excitement overtaking his voice. Janette smiled and nodded, tears gushing still. Aljaz wiped her cheeks before cupping her head and gently kissing the top of it. "You'll be the best dad. I know it." Janette said, looking up into her fiance's eyes like she had done so many times. "And you'll be the best mom." Aljaz added, before having a moment together to fully take the situation in. They were going to be a family. A perfect little family.
