Jess was brought up in the family of a mobster and his wife. They were rich yet unhappy and Jess could feel it every second of her life. One day, her mother decided to run away. Fed up with all the scandals and crimes her father was involved in, Jess decided to run away with her mother to Britain where she was put in a Boarding school at the tender age of 12. On her eighteenth birthday, Jess returned home to find the worst sight one could see, her mother, murdered in her apartment. She had spent months alone, trying to figure out who murdered her mom even after the detectives had closed the case. Finally, Jess decided to join the Police Forces, not only to help get more evidences to solve her mother's case but also to help those victims who have suffered just like her. Along the way, Jess discovered a diary that her mother kept but never really saw her writing in. Reading the diary, Jess came to know about things she didn't believe it at first but now it all made sense. The young brunette was actually a Nephilim. Her mother was a human who fell in love with a Nephilim and gave birth to her. Jess now realized why she had two large thick scars on each shoulder blade . It took her some time to wrap her head around all the new things she had come to know but when she finally did, it all started to make sense and in no time, Jess had figured out who killed her mother, it was her husband, the person she had thought was her father, the gangster who was more famous for his crimes than his words. However, due to lack of evidence, he was never convicted.

As days passed by, Jess caught wind of Evernore City, in Whiteshore where she had heard many like her resided. She decided to transfer to this city where she found herself the respectable post of a detective, to not only find her father and know what she truly is capable off but also to help humans find justice.

A new chapter of Jess life started as she came to Whiteshore. The young nephilim quickly became a star detective in the City, with her partner, Harrison Chadwick. Things were beginning to become normal and Jess had slowly started to see the light in all situation. She started caring for others again, making friends, opening upto a lot of people, something she hadn't done since her mother's death. And then, she was offered the post of Ambassador, for the Nephilim. The brunette wasn't really sure of this idea at first, but seeing how the previous ambassador trusted her with the work, even though they had known each other for like, two weeks, she knew she was capable of it. Jess was never someone who would back down and this time too, she didn't. And now, Cornelia is the ambassador for the Nephilims.

However, life seems to keep screwing up with Jess. Just as she thought she could have a new beginning, let go of her demons and move on from her mother's death, fate took a turn. This time bringing her mother's husband back in the picture. Harrison Chadwick's father had known dirty secrets about Jess's gangster mother's husband. And to cover up his track, he killed senior Chadwick. And now years later, he kidnapped Harrison Chadwick. Jess as usual tried to save the day with the help of Leona d'Fierro and finally they tricked her father and brought Harrison back home. But that wasn't all. One day, after Harrison and Leona had a short meet and greet with Cornelia, walked down the roads and a sound was heard...the sound of a gun shooting, and the sound of Jess heart building up the walls that she had successfully torn down in the past few days.

Harrison Chadwick died that day. Who killed him? Well, it was none other than the gangster Jess grew up calling 'father'. The proof that he was behind it? A lovely text message that followed the gun-shot: "You tricked us. Love, daddy." Jess was torn apart again, another person she cared about died... and she couldn't do a thing. The nephilim blames herself for Harrison's death no matter what others say. She stole Leona and Harrison's happiness from them. She stole Leona's love from her. It was her fault. She couldn't do anything to save him. From this day, Jess has stopped caring, caring too deeply for anyone, afraid they might end up dead too. She wants vengeance for what her father did. She wants to see him suffer for killing anyone and everyone, especially those who mattered to her. Unbeknownst to Jess, the darkness that was in her was now slowly invading her mind again, taking her back to the years when her mother died and she stopped caring, in fear the people she cared about would die again...

However, after arriving in Whiteshore, all her emotions somehow got the best of her, making her form close bonds with people and going out of her way to protect them. And while she was trying to get a grip over herself, she collided with the eldest d'Fierro. And well, let's say, things changed after that.
