  Emily's POV:
Back in school, things are a little tense. Landon won't talk to me, for some weird reason I don't know about; and I'm finally feeling the pressure of senior year. God, who knew high school could be so stressful.
Switching between class periods, I walk to class with my green t shirt, navy jean shorts and white converse. The color of my shirt that my mom made for me really accented my green eyes. Bumping into a cluster of rich kids, I excuse myself as a girl with fake eyelashes and big boobs rolls her eyes "look what the cat dragged in."
I close my eyes and curl one hand into a fist, "hello to you too Jade."
She examines her nails "so I see my rep is getting around school, how fantastic," as she rolls her eyes in annoyance.
"Yeah," I smile politely just like my mom taught me.

Jade shrugs her bright red hair to the side and eyes my outfit, "why don't you come shopping with me this weekend? Those clothes cover up to much," she smirks.
My cheeks turn a slight shade of ruby red "thanks, but I don't need the school slut helping me pick what outfits I should buy," I say sarcastically. Her eyes narrow as she crosses her arms, "big deal, all the boys will be drooling over you once I'm done with you."
I glance at the clock as it changes to 11:45, "I don't have time for your pity party Jade, I got to get to class."
Exiting the crowd, I hear Jade squeal as her boyfriend hugs her from behind. I sigh and decide to keep my head up for the rest of the day. Hearing my phone buzz, I pull it out and see "turn around," written on the tiny screen.

Whipping around, I bite my lip and chuckle "hello varsity jacket, nice to see you again."
He runs his hand through his hair and nods, "hey, listen..I was looking for you at the dance, but you never showed. What gives?"
The hallway is almost cleared by now as I report, "I'm so sorry Landon, I uh.. I don't know how to put this."
He rolls his hazel eyes, "whatever, I'm sorry I ever asked a pathetic girl like you anyways. I should have gone with my girlfriend instead."
My throat bunches up, "dude, she's horrible, why are you still with her? And don't tell me because it's of her breast implants."
He stays silent as I walk away, "knew it, always the pretty ones every freakin time."
Landon watches me walk away as Jade comes up to him and kisses his cheek, "let's go Carter. We have chemistry."
He slings an arm over her shoulder and turns back around, "you're right."

In English, I lightly draw Kadens name into my notebook and clear my throat. Hearing the teacher mumble on and on about what seemed like the 1920's, I look out the window and try not to think about the man I met. His eyes are like sapphires, his body is well built and those lips, ugh. Stop thinking about him Em, even though he played your favorite songs, that doesn't mean anything. But when I danced with him, I felt light as air.
Waiting for the bell to ring, Cameron taps me on the back, "pst."
I turn around "yeah?"
"I missed you at the homecoming dance. It's a shame you weren't there, something happened."
I raise my eyebrows in concern, "what?"
He plays with his pencil, "Lexi kissed me."
The bell rings as I gather my books, "tell me everything at lunch okay?"
He nods as he says bye and I walk out. I quickly make it toward my next class as I glide into my seat. I dip my head back, exhale and redo my hair into a side braid. Hands squeeze my shoulders as he sits down behind me, "hey bae."
I lightly smile and turn around, "hey Jackson, oh; how's Mike doing?"
He rubs his face and grunts, "he's doing better. The therapy is working, so he should be back in school next week."
I smile, "awesome, I'm so sorry he didn't tell you that he had stage 3 cancer."
He grumbles, "but he told you..as always."
I chuckle "yeah, he seems pretty fond of me. I might steal him away from you," I laugh.
A low growl comes from him "you wouldn't dare-"
I turn back around and face the front as class begins. Math wasn't my strongest subject, but at least the teacher was chill.

"Class, do these 20 problems in your notebook with a partner, turn them into me by tomorrow if you can," the teacher says.
I hear Jackson giggle behind me, "dude, Mr. Thompson is so damn easy. We will pass his class with no problems."
"Yeah, if only I could pass Chemistry that easy." Opening my notebook, I do the first problem as I yawn and close my notebook.
"Screw this, he never keeps his promises anyways," I scratch my neck.
He shrugs and massages my shoulders and I smile, "thanks big J."
  Jackson smiles "anytime girl."
"So you ready to be a senior this year?"
He dramatically sighs, "yes, I hate junior year. But it's where I met Mike so I can't complain."

"True, senior year is the best, as long as you get the right teachers."
He nods as the bell rings a couple minutes later. Picking up my lunchbox, I go toward the cafeteria as I sit in my usual seat. Looking around for Cameron, he appears and sits down across from me. "Hey loser," I smile.
"Sup."
I take out my ham and cheese sandwich, "lots of things. The sky, the ceiling, the lights, the-"
He licks his lips, "alright, I get it. Don't say sup."
A few minutes of silence go by as I clear my throat, "so you kissed Lexi."
He huffs and rubs his nose, "she kissed me actually. I don't know why though."
I shrug "if you're not making the first move, then you're screwed. She probably wants to lead you on."
He eats his burger, "but why though?"
I finish my sandwich and swallow, "because you aren't making any moves, that's why! Girls like it when guys show that they care, but sometimes we wait for a guy over and over, but he will never love you. No matter how hard you try," I close my eyes and get up to throw my sandwich away. Coming back, he finishes the last of his chips as he grabs my hand. Looking at him dead in the eyes, he squeezes my hand, "I care about you Em, always remember that."
