Emily's POV
After dinner was made, I explained everything to my savior. About who I really was, where I came from...that's pretty much everything. Needing a moment to think this through, Jefferson and I had a cup of tea.A few minutes later, Gavin comes back with his hair matted to his forehead and his clothes wet, "I can't believe it. You lied to me."
Setting down my cup, I cross my feet "I only did it to protect myself. You can understand that, can't you?"
Shrugging his shoulders, he eyes the squirrel suspiciously, "how can a freaking squirrel be the best." Jefferson raises an eyebrow and grins, "allow me to show you."* * *
Gavin lays on his back and pants heavily, "lost to a squirrel, my worst nightmare," he says sarcastically. Jefferson wipes the rain off his fur and chuckles, "if you're lucky, you could beat me when we meet again."
Gavin's hazel eyes seem to sparkle in the evening light, "pick a time and place."
Jefferson cracks his back "gladly."
Laughing to myself, I peck Jeffersons cheek "so are we ready?"
He nods as Gavin seems confused, "where are you going?"
Putting my hair to one side, I wipe the water from my face "home."
