Emily's POV:
I got to say, last night was the best night of my life.
Dancing with this strange, beautiful man was wonderful, but I just wish I knew who he was. Before I left, Kaden ran up to me and turned me around. Reaching in his pocket, he took out a little coin and placed it in my hand. Before I could ask why, he left. Jefferson grabbed my arm and dragged me to his room. Closing the door, he nods, "draw this symbol," as he writes it in the air. Writing the symbol on the brick wall, it glows a light blue and I back up.
Eyes widening, I have fear written on my face, "w-what's it doing?"
He mumbles, "I knew it!" Clearing his throat, he states "it's opening a portal to your world."

The portal opens up and I look at Jefferson with sympathy. "You know, you're the only one who's been nice to me this whole time, so thank you." Grasping the coin in my hand, I step through and it swallows me, but I could've sworn I could see Jefferson smile.

The wind picks up and I close my eyes until I'm laying down in the attic. Touching my necklace, I whisper "thank you Kaden."
Brushing the dirt off my dress, I get up and walk down the creaky steps toward my room. Careful not to fall, I take each step with caution and plop down on my comfy bed. Looking at the clear night sky, I take out the small coin and hold it up. Resting my head on the cushy pillow, I sigh "why did he give me this anyways? It's just a stupid coin."
Tossing it on my dresser draw, I turn on my side and stare out into space, listening to the silence that I loved.

   Kaden's POV

Whispering the name to myself, I walk up the steps to the glass throne and sit down. Hearing the clanks of drinks and laughter are annoying when you throw parties a lot. Resting my head on my chin, a pretty young girl glanced at me and blushed. My father comes to me and pats my shoulder, "looks like you have an admirer."
I chuckle "she's not worth my time anyways, I've already found one."
He rolls his eyes "well, you should at least get to know the girl. Come on Kaden."
I shrug as the girl stops beneath the steps and curtsies "your highness."
I could tell by her appearance that she was very wealthy and well dressed too. Her gown was made of soft blue fabric and her hair was a light blonde. She lifts her green eyes to me and I nod. My father looks at her as well, "what's your name?"
She responds, "Catherine, your grace."
I clear my throat and glance my eyes up and down her slender body "pleased to meet you. I hope you're enjoying the party."
She gets up and wipes her dress, "I am. I never knew you were so young.. and handsome." I smirk and she looks down before adding "your highness."

I stand up and walk down the steps as I hold out my hand, "would you care to dance my lady?"
She giggles "why certainly." She takes my hand gently and we walk away from the throne. Dancing with Catherine; the way her golden hair swayed to the music and the funny thing I noticed about this one was, she bit her lip every 10 seconds. She blushes and looks away, "sorry, I do it when I'm nervous."

I whisper in her ear, "what's their to be nervous about hm?"
She shrugs and I blow some hair out of my face. "So how old are you?"
She meets my eyes "17, and yourself?"
"This is my party after all, so I'm 19."
She raises her eyebrows in surprise, "hm, 2 year age difference. Who knew that could happen," she chuckles. I didn't laugh as I pull her closer to me and stroke her back. I spin her and ask, "so are you engaged to anybody currently? Because a beautiful, wealthy young woman like yourself shouldn't be alone."
Her face turns a slight shade of red "no, my mother wanted me to be sure I was meeting the right person before rushing into a great big wedding."
I smirk, "I know the feeling. Having things forced upon you like that, it's no fun." Making a tsk noise with my tongue, she clears her throat, "what's it like being a crown prince of this mighty kingdom your highness?"
I sigh and scratch my cheek, "first off.. call me Kaden. Second of all, it's great when you can kill anyone you want, do as you please and nobody here gives a rats ass about it." My sapphire eyes twinkle with joy at the thought when Catherine gulps, "I see. So who was that girl I saw you with a few hours ago?"
I half smile at the thought of the mysterious brunette who had stolen my heart, "who Emily?"
She makes it very clear that's who she was talking about and waits until I speak, "she's uh- not from around here and I was just dancing with her to be polite; that's all." Thankfully, she didn't know the real reason behind my little encounter with Emily.

She smiles "good," and reaches up on her tip toes and plants a soft kiss on my lips. She holds my cheek with one hand and slowly pulls away. Feeling her warm breath on my face, my sapphire eyes look at her and she breaths "I'm sorry your highness, I don't know what came over me. It won't happen-"
Before I could let her finish that sentence, I pull her body toward mine and kiss her soft, pink lips. Her arms wrap around my neck as she bites my lower lip. I smirk and squeeze her ass lightly as she gasps "your highness, this isn't prince-like."
A low growl escapes my throat "who gives a shit, I can do what I want. And I told you before.." Pulling her back, I wink at her and she excuses herself to go get a drink.
Yawning, my mother walks up to me and greets me with a hug, "happy birthday my son."
I smile and peck her cheek "thank you mother."

"So I see you have met Princess Catherine," she smiles and brushes a strand of brown hair out of her eyes. I run a hand through my hair and exhale, "she's very lovely mother, but where is she from?"
My mother says softly "Alva"
I nod as my father appears behind my mother and he gives me a pat on my shoulder "hoped you enjoyed your birthday son, your mother and I picked out your present with care."
I raise an eyebrow, "oh?"

Catherine walks over as she hands me a glass of champagne. Taking the glass from her delicate hand, I grin "thanks my dear." She smiles and my father looks at me, "it seems you've made good use of your present Kaden," he chuckles.
Glancing over at the gorgeous blonde next to me, I clear my throat "I need a word with my father.. alone."
She nods and walks away with my mother as I close my eyes and open them again trying to process what's happening.
"Are you serious?!"
"That is not the reaction I was expecting from my son." Taking a sip from his drink, I rub my neck and sigh "you expect me to be happy with this! I can't have her around me as my private whore," I whisper.
He grabs my arm and shakes me a little, "look at me," as I meet his hazel eyes. "You can and you will. I can tell she likes you and I hope you like her too."
A man with a half gray mask taps my fathers shoulder asking if he could have a word with him. He nods "of course," and turns back to me.
"Excuse me, I have to speak with my former associate about the trade agreement. Just remember you are a Gardel and can do anything." Walking away with the strange man, I walk up to my mother and hug her. She merely nods and states "your father and I will be departing here in a few minutes, and get along with Catherine. I'm sure you'll grow to love her Kaden."
I huff as Catherine takes my hand and I grin "we'll see about that."
She giggles and I yawn "well I'm off to bed." Kissing my mothers cheek, I bid her goodnight and walk toward the doors leading down the hallway. Catherine follows a few feet behind as I open the door to reveal a king size bed with a brown dining table, a sitting area and a drape that hung across my bed. I take off my mask and splash some water on my face before sneaking into bed.
Before I could object, I feel arms around my waist and lips brush my neck as I smirk " this is going to be a long night for you my dear," as I pull the sheets over us.
