Emily's POV

Sitting on my bed watching "The Bachelor," I hear the door creak open and something brown appears. It jumps on my bed as I smile, "hey buddy."
The dog barks and licks my hand as it curls up into a little ball and falls asleep. Glancing at the golden coin again, I lean back on my pillow and scratch Buddy's ear, "if only I could go back."
My phones buzzes on my desk as I get up to answer it, "hello?" Taking a gulp of water, she responds "hey Em, so Cameron wants to do it tonight."
Nearly spitting out my water, I swallow and scratch my neck, "why?"
"I don't know, he gets like this sometimes. But I'm scared."
I sigh and get back under the covers, "it's okay Lex, just take it slow."
"But you know it's my first time right?"
"Yes, I know. Don't let him pressure you into anything you don't want to do, ok?"
She nods and thanks me as we both hang up. Tossing the phone onto my bed, I scramble on it and sniff, "things would be so much better if Jade stopped picking on me. Why can't Kaden protect me?" Hearing the front door open, my mom calls, "Emily?"
I yell that I'm here as she puts the groceries away. Looking at the time, I pick my nails and swipe the coin from my bedside table. Feeling it's hard surface, I admire it and touch the middle of the coin. Tossing it up and down, a figure appears as he lands in my room.
He moans on the carpeted floor with that squeaky voice of his "I've got to work on my landing."

I sit up suddenly and crawl toward the edge of the bed, "Jefferson?"
He gets up and smiles, "hello Miss Emily, it's nice to see you again."
I tilt my head "um, what are you doing here?"
He shows his claws "what do you think."
I back up with fear, "you're not going to kill me, are you?"
He chuckles, "No. I can tell Kaden's missing you."
A slight smile forms on my lips, "really?"
He nods, "come with me, your true love awaits."
He holds out his furry hand and I put my small hand in his large one as Buddy barks.
   "Buddy, I'll be back."
The wind picks up as we vanish until my feet touch the cold tile. I shiver as Jefferson wraps me in a purple cloak and checks to make sure I'm okay.

"I'm fine, squirrel." Hearing music coming from the hallway, he responds "Kadens uncle is throwing a party, this is the perfect opportunity," he grins.
Brushing my hair behind my ear, Jefferson grabs my arm and leads me toward the council room. Walking past the doors that I remember so well, I stop "wait, he won't remember me."
Jeffersons smile comes to a frown, "he will, trust me."
Playing with the golden coin in my pocket, I sigh and finally see the sapphire eyes that I love.

Kaden's POV

Bored with all the parties, I excuse myself from chatting with these pretty ladies and scan the crowd. Spotting a gorgeous brunette, I walk over and meet those sea-green eyes. Can it be? I ask myself as I stride toward her. My smile widens as we finally come eye to eye. It takes everything in me not to run and hug her, since I have my image to uphold.
She smiles "hello Kaden."
I clear my throat and stuff my hands into my pockets, "hey Emily."
She comes up to hug me, but I pull back "not here."
She shrugs and pulls out the gold coin, "every day, I looked at it and thought of you."
I blush and look down, "I missed you Emily."
"I missed you too Kaden."
I take her hand, kiss it and mumble "let's go somewhere to talk."
She nods as I take her hand and walk back to my room. Looking around to make sure no one was following us, I step into the room and close the door. My heart pounds as I run up to her and hug her with all my might. She hugs me back, "I'm glad I can see you again."
I close my eyes and whisper, "I'm glad you're here too."
On her tip toes, she hugs me again and closes her eyes. I missed him so much. Too much, actually.
I don't let her go as I comb my fingers down her hair. Shaking, she stirs from me and speaks  "I shouldn't be here, my father-"
I sit down on the bed, "but you're here now."
She walks up next to me and sits down, leaning her head on my shoulder. I kiss her head and tickle her side as she squirms "Kaden, come on."
A smirk forms as I wrap an arm around her neck, "we need to do some serious catching up."
Nodding in agreement, I kiss down her neck slowly as she pushes me away, "this is not catching up dude."
The candlelight catches my eye as it glows deep blue, "we can do that tomorrow, but for now-" I creep my hand up beneath her shirt and grab her small breast.

"Kaden!"
"Did I do something wrong?"
Emily stands up and walks toward the door as I twist my body around, "oh come on Emily, don't be like that."
She closes her eyes and sniffs "until you can manage to act like a gentlemen, I shouldn't have come back," as she opens the brass knob and the sweet sound of violins fill the room.
"Emily, don't go..not again."
Before I could say anything else, she walks out into the hallway and marches into the crowd of giggling ladies.
Grabbing my hair, I kick the chair across from me. Stupid, stupid idiot!
Hearing the ladies in the wide space, I get up, march over toward the door and close it. Turning around, I place both hands on the door to steady myself as I suck in a breath.
