"Did they even come out to give us updates?" Jesse said. It took him a couple of hours to come here but he was just a state next door. I shook my head leaning in my chair yawning. "But a doctor did say she was okay" I said laying my head back on the pellow. "Hang in there kellin.. You two will be okay" he said. That's right, I am hospitalized. I was told I broke two ribs while hitting the steering wheel hardly and I burnt my arm badly. Jesse slowly sunk in his chair me i slowly shut my eyes falling into a deep sleep for once. I hope Hazel is ok.
Next day, morning.
My eyes opened and I stretched before feeling pain. Jesse walked into the room surprising me. "I got us coffee" he said with a smile. "How's Hazel?" I asked him taking it from his hand. "While you were asleep, the doctor asked if you were her boyfriend, to receive any news or information, so I said you were and I had to tell you that she was disconnected and hospitalized to California. It was that bad... " he said and my jaw dropped.
"What happened?" I asked him. "She... It's hard to explain" he said. "All I can say is that her life is at risk and she was stabbed deeply by pieces of metal more than twice and she lost too much blood to where she needs to use those packages of blood that matches her type of blood just to keep her body working. They were struggling to keep her body temp and her heart going so they had to transport her somewhere else that had more high class equipment to save her." He said and I sat back down feeling my heart get hit.
"This is all my fault" I said. "Kellin don't say that!" Jesse cooed. "No it is! I was driving!!" I said. "but you were hit by another car" he said and I shut up. "Who told you?" I asked. "The police found your car like that" Jesse said sitting on the bed by my feet. I was so confused and I didn't even feel like being alive. I wanted to sleep forever and not in a bad way. I was not feeling depressed or suicidal, but I did feel bad for Hazel and I just didn't want to be awake. I wanted to open my eyes and wake up to a day where none of this had ever happened.
"Doctors said you can leave today since you stayed overnight so they could check your vitals, blood, and more and it all came out positive so your good to go. Just watch how you handle your chest, but that's why your coming with me" he said smiling. "Wait what?" I asked completely confused. "You are staying with me in California until Hazel is okay." I smiled. "Thank you" I looked down to smile and then I felt Jesse pull me into a hug.
I am sorry for the huge time gap but I want to get the lame things out of the way and get to the good things!!
After we left Oregon and took an hour trip to Cali, I fell asleep because I wasn't looking forward to staying up like Jesse did. I brought a suitcase full of my belongings. I am staying in the guest room of Jesses and his girlfriends house here in Cali. Jesse called my mom to give her updates because she couldn't afford to come all the way here in Oregon so he gave her a call and I'll get when I wake up.
"KELLIN!" Jesse yelled startling a me half to death. I shot up and looked around the car and outside of the window to finding a car coming our way to hit us. "Kellin.. Dude chill. I was going to tell you we are almost there" Jesse said worried and kept his eyes on the road and back at me for two seconds. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and took a deep breath. "Just a little phobia ya know" I chuckled slightly but it was fake. He gave me a small smile and continued to drive while I looked around. My eyes kept looking around the tall buildings and the people dancing on the sidewalk and many people on the sidewalks. We were in the city as you can tell.
By the time we got to the hospital, it's already been like almost 7 hours since we drove and everything. So much traffic! We parked into an the ramped area of the parking lots and parked on level 6 and entered the hospital. It was quite fancy and we had to make our way to the emergency room. I limped a little and Jesse walked by my side. The hallway was a very long walk but it didn't matter to me because I don't want to keep being separated with my bestfriend, miles away.
As we walked into the lobby, we stood there while Jesse went to the front best telling them I was her brother so I could get to see her since I was blood related. If I was her boyfriend I wouldn't get to see her because I am not related or family. I smiled at Jesse as the girl from the front desk led me to her room and Jesse nodded and smiled back at me. Me and the girl were alone walking farther away from the front and into another hallway. It smelt good and was very awkwardly quiet. "You sing for a band don't you?" She asked. I paused for a moment and eyed her. "Yes, well yes I do" I said proudly and she smiled. "Do you think you can sign this for my daughter? She's a huge fan" the women asked and I nodded. "Do you know any of her social medias?" I asked and sadly her mother shook her head. "You should text her... Put her on the phone or something because I'm going to be here for a while and I don't think Hazel is awake at the moment. Long night" I said and she smiled and oked me.
She opened the door to Hazel and I saw hazels face flash with a dim light shinning on her while everything else was dark besides the hear monitor. I smiled and rubbed her face with my hand. "Your a fighter. Keep it that way Hazel" I said kissing her forehead. Since I am going to be here for a long while, I might as well get comfortable. I took my jacket off and slouched in the comfortable chair waiting for the doctor to come back. "Hey sir! How's everything going?" She came back and asked. "Going well. Didn't actually think she'd be like this. I thought it was a lot worse" I said and she smiled. "That's great news! May I ask, can you take my phone because if I don't go back, I could get fired, sadly" she frowned and I nodded. "Yes! What's your daughters name?" I asked, "It is Katy. Her name is in my contacts. Good luck!" She smiled and walked off.
I stared at the door smiling and thought this was a cool thing I am doing. But I made sure to check on Hazel before I looked away from her. I opened her contact and brought myself to "Messages" and just asked her. "Hey love. What's your Twitter? This is kellin" and waited for a reply. It was automatically read. "What" was all she said and then I clicked call right next to her name and chuckled at myself.
She picked up and it was so quiet. "Hello Katy!" I said and she said "oh my god. Kellin is this actually you? Hi!" She said. "Hey! What's up!" I said and it almost seemed as if she shrugged. "N-nothing.. H-how are you t-talking to me? On my moms phone?" She stuttered. She sounded adorable but not as adorable as Hazel. "She noticed who I was and asked me to say hi and I said sure.. But I was wondering what is your Twitter so I can maybe follow it?" I asked and I could tell this girl was about to die. She didn't speak. I laughed and she choked.
"Oh-I-um okay. It's swskattty. Sorry for the stupid name" she said, "What! That ain't stupid! It's perfect." I said and she giggled through her stretched cheeks, she's smiling. But after a while, I had to go but we had a long conversation that's was quite decent and wonderful and then I promised I'll follow her and I have to hang up sadly. I gave the nurse her phone while she was checking in on us. I pulled out my phone and followed her.
"Will she be fine?" I asked the doctor when she came back and she took a seat by me. "Kellin... There are a few things I may inform you on" she said making my heart stop. "You mean there are things you guys haven't told me?" I asked and she shook her head yes.
