Chapter 25
I was awoken by the constant banging of my bedroom door. I groaned in irritation as I shifted into a sitting position. My eyes are still closely shut due to constant rubbing in order for me to adjust to the prism of light that the morning greeted me. Without much ado, I started to move towards the door walking hesitantly.
Being an avid fan of the 'not a morning person' society, I easily felt annoyed and irritated as the loud banging continued to resonate all over the four walls. "Coming!" I groaned with complete irritation on my tone.
As I opened the door, I was immediately greeted by no other than my blonde bestfriend. A grin was fixed on her small face which made her look pretty angelic. "Hey, hey, hey! Did I just tell you last night that we're going to be early today?" She asked as irritation replaced her smiling façade.
"Whaaaat?" I yawned the word with a tone from the deep slumber. "Where are we going? And why do we have to be this early?" I asked with still a tint of sleepiness dominating my voice.
"Well, what do I expect from a ninety-year old granny? I totally forgot that you have a mild occurrence of memory gap or something..." She retorted with a sarcastic tone emphasizing each rude words.
I rolled my eyes at her comment. I immediately felt very low of myself just from processing her stupid comment on my memory capabilities. I tried too hard to remember but emptiness dominated my mind. I groaned internally trying as hard as I can to reminisce everything that we had planned for the day. What the hell? Why can't I even remember a thing? Am I really this old? Is Chanel right that I am alike with a ninety-year old granny?
With a sound of snapping fingers on front of me, I was dragged out from my train of thought. "Hello...." Chanel waved her hands in front of my face trying to capture my whole attention. "...earth to Lei...hello!" She continued waving her hands and I slapped her hands away from my face.
"Could you just tell me already on where we are going toda—" My eyes immediately widened as realization hit me on where we were going today. Holy shit! I cursed mentally at the whole thought. "Oh my Gucci! Why haven't you told me right away?" I immediately moved as fast as I could to change into something decent for our plans today.
Moving as fast as I could, I stumbled several times at the luggage that I had placed on the floor. Why the hell did I forgot about something quiet important? Today would be the real start of the next chapter of my life and all I did was lazily sleep like an elephant or something. Geez, why am I such a stupid person?
After watching me moved from the inside of my room, Chanel had decided to move inside and sat on the edge of my bed. "I already knew that this thing would happen. And since, I am too knowledgeable to think, I had decided to come here thirty minutes early. Isn't that such a clever move, Lei?" She praised herself heads up as she felt really proud of her own sarcastic comment to herself.
"Yeah, whatever. Could you just help me gather these stuffs already? Let's grab these downstairs. Come on." I demanded while motioning to her to grab the lighter bags. She rolled her eyes and grabbed the bags hesitantly.
Moving downstairs, I was immediately greeted by my mom and dad on the living room. "Oh my honey, my sweet pumpkin pie." She came closer to me and enveloped me on a bear hug together with my dad. "I can't believe everything moves so fast and now you are going to college." She fanned herself with her hands while trying to dry her teary eyes.
"Mom, I am not gonna die, okay? I am just going to college. Enough with that entire goodbye stuffs, mom. If you keep on crying like a lost puppy, your Asian eyes will entirely close you know. So stop." I reassured her by hugging her in return. Geez, I really love this woman.
