Naruto: Dreams Unraveled

After So Long

I woke up with a jolt but relaxed when I heard the familiar voice of Nanami and the strong scent of Gaara. My vision seemed black, but that was only because Gaara's shirt was black. That's when I got the pounding in my head, gripping it instead of Gaara's shirt, "The hell?" Wait? Gaara is holding me?! I snapped out of it as he placed me gently on the floor. "Um, thanks," I turned to the sand siblings, "What happened?" "You passed out," Temari simply answered. That's when everything rushed back to me and I turned to Nanami quickly, but stopped short by taking in her appearance.

She had honey blond hair that was just below her large chest with big green eyes. She was my height, which I was happy so I wasn't always the shortest one, and she wore her nurse uniform (which does indeed cover and come with blue pants. Don't be pervs!). "Nanami?" "Oh so your eyes turned out to be blue!" She beamed. I was shocked for a moment, "Really?" "Why would you not know your eye color?" Kankuro mouthed. "Because these eyes aren't mine," I snapped, just turning my head so he heard me. The three seemed surprised even though Gaara played it off as usual.

I then remembered, "I need to speak with the Hokage immediately." "No can do, kiddo," Kats entered the conversation, stepping up with a clipboard, "nice to see you bright eyed and bushy tailed." "Well you haven't changed over the past six years, except you're a little more gray than I remember," I joked for a second, then got serious again, "But I'm serious, I need to speak to the Hokage." "So am I, kid, sorry," Kats just shrugged as Nanami just stood there. "Damn it, Katsumo, I'm not kidding,"

At that, I stuffed my hand into my shirt, in my bra, and pulled out a slip of leather with a badge on it, "I need to see the Hokage now, and that's an order." He froze as Nanami looked at me confused, "How do you have one of those?" I smirked, "I'm under orders of the Hokage personally not to say a word, along with the others that know, this goes for the both of you now. One word about this and you'll be in Ibiki's hands." Temari and Kankuro seemed to freeze. "Alright, I'll take you there," Kats gave in. "Good, it's dire," I replied, stuffing the badge back into my 'safe hiding spot'.

Before walking off, however, I turned to the sand siblings who were full of curiosity at this point, "Thanks again. I owe you guys one." Temari and Kankuro just shrugged as Gaara just stood there as I winked at him. He slightly blushed then went back to his normal self as I walked to where the Hokage would be.

Once there I reported in. The alert was out but I was not to say anything to anyone. Anko was on the move to look for the snake creep my team had encountered. Apparently I was four days early. And sense I was not conscious when brought here, it didn't affect my team, so we would be continuing if they hot here withing the time regulation. I sighed in relief at that.

Once done with my report I returned to the medical rooms as Kats healed me up a little slower, but I was already pretty much healed. Luckily Naruto and I were able to heal pretty fast. I was just hoping that my team was ok.

As the days went by, I stayed in the medical station and helped cook for the ones that were coming in (though no one knew for I cooked behind closed doors), and would sit on the roof at night with Gaara... usually sitting there in silence or talking about random things for three minutes at a time. He was really distracted and I was pretty sure it was due to Shukaku. He avoided me during the day, so I was bored for the most part.

Once the fifth day rolled around I waited for my team to arrive. They just had to, and I knew they would. It was down to the last second but they arrived. "HOLOTA!" Naruto cried. I smiled as he cried more, "Your eyes! Can you see?!" I cried a little too, nodding, "You've grown up. All of you."

Naruto had grown so much! He was so much taller and had a fuller head of spiky blonde hair. His smiled was bigger too, as he wore that strange jumpsuit he admired so much. His blue eyes were watery as all he could do was hug me.

"They're so blue," Sakura replied with a smile. Sakura's pink hair was short, like the last time I saw it, but it was jagged in some places. Wasn't it supposed to be long? Her green eyes were also big and bright just they used to be. She was just a little taller than Naruto though.

"Holota," That was Uchiha. I turned to him to see that he had indeed grown up. His hair was more spiky in the back but his eyes had become so much colder. Even though when he smirked, he did hold confidence and still too much pride. But that was an Uchiha. "It's good to see your eyes again," Uchiha smirked. "It's good to see you all again too," I smiled at him, all of them together, for once.

We then went in as they opened the scrolls and Iruka popped out, explaining the message on the wall and promising Naruto ramen later. He then led us to the main hall where we would be holding the elimination rounds. When we entered there were many gasps, mainly from the Leaf Genin, noticing my eyes were now uncovered. I was playing a mental game seeing who was who and if I remembered what they looked like.

Once we lined up, Iruka went to go join the sensei ranks. I was a little bit sad and disappointed that Kisuka was not among them. My mind then focused as Anko addressed us, "Congratulations on passing the second test. The Hokage will now explain the third test."

Once the Hokage started explaining the true meaning of the exams, I was checking out who all made the cut. Team 7, of course, Team 8, Team 9, Team 10, the other leaf ninja group, the sand siblings, and the sound ninja. Things were going to get extremely interesting. Hayate Gekkou then showed up out of thin air as he began explaining the third part of the exam which he would referee... him and his coughing fits. He then asked if anyone wanted to leave and Kabuto spoke up, "That's it, I guess I'm done."

I had hardly recognized the white haired teen. He had definitely grown and had hit a growth spurt along the way. Though Kabuto was the son of Dr. Yakushi, he was not his original son. Kabuto was actually found out cold beyond the village at a young age. I was to befriend the boy sense I had just made the medical core. But in the process I found the boy to be too strict on himself and too mature for his own age. My first theory was that he was just to uphold his new roots of the Yakushi family. But once Dr. Yakushi died, Kabuto never cried once.

Sense then I've had my suspicions about him, and have always picked at him to see if he could ever lose his cool. As time went by, it seems that I began to annoy him more and more to the point where he can't stand the thought of he being inferior to me... just considering I am above him in the medical core by a long shot.

All the Leaf Genin flipped, except me. "But, Kabuto-" Naruto objected before I cut him off, "Don't bother with him, Naruto, he's always been a wimp when it comes to one on one combat. I bet he'll give you some lame excuse like he's too low on chakra." Naruto just gawked at me for saying this. Kabuto however just glared at me, "Fine, I'll stay." I just smirked.

After everything had calmed back down and Kabuto had turned back around to face the front, I found that Uchiha suddenly froze in pain. Looking closer, I found a curse mark... none like I had ever seen. Sakura and Naruto argued with Uchiha about leaving and giving up this round but ended up telling Naruto, "It's you who I want to fight the most." At this I just sighed, as I just pulled out a pill. I knew it wouldn't do much, but it was worth a shot.

"Hey, Uchiha," I got his attention as he turned to me. "Take this, it should help," I gave him the pill as he looked at it with curiosity, but at this I stepped closer I put my hand on his mark and applied a thin layer of invisible ice as he froze, shocked by the, literal, icy touch, "The coldness should help numb the burning and the pill will help keep the pain at bay." He just nodded as he swallowed the pill and turned back around in time to see the names being shuffled upon the board.

Once they stopped the room got silent as Kabuto turned to me, "Looks like I got lucky." I evilly smirked, "Lucky? You better start counting your blessings, four-eyes, because you're about to be in hell."

The board read: "Holota Uzumaki" and "Kabuto Yakushi".
