Naruto: Dreams Unraveled

Mine

Once at the festival, we met up with Choji, Shika, Lee, Neji, Kiba, and Shino. Choji was wearing a yellow and green kimono. Shika was wearing a light green and a dark green kimono. Lee was wearing his signature green and orange but a kimono. Neji wore a cream white and a light pale fancy purple kimono. Kiba wore a red and blue kimono. And Shino apparently didn't want to wear a kimono... kill joy. Regardless though, we all had fun.

The night had begun with a parade through town as the vendors and shops within Konoha had begun to light up in lights. Once the parade was over, our group set out among the different game stalls to see who could get what. Shika had won Temari a panda bear as Kankuro ended up winning a cute stuffed puppy for Nanami. It was sweet as I could tell it made her night even more magical. Lee fought to get a stuffed dog that looked like Pakkun, which he eventually won, for Sakura. Neji had also loosened up and won a little tiger for Tenten. Hinata had sweet teammates as Shino and Kiba had won her a fox doll each.

I had managed to win a goldfish for Konohamaru, Muagi, and Udon as they came and went. Everyone else couldn't manage to get a fish as I just snickered at them. Gaara just seemed amused watching everyone from a distance as I joined him... seeing as the goldfish game was free of charge.

We then started to get a little hungry as we decided to get something to eat. Choji of course got one of everything as I went for the cotton candy. I ended up sharing it with Gaara, as he soon found it a bit addicting, sense he hadn't tried the fluffy sweet stuff before. The others ended up getting ice cream or a large pretzel.

After walking around and looking in shops for a little while we soon found the dance floor. I had pulled Shika out at one point but he then passed me onto Lee. But we then had to switch partners, so I ended up with Neji but it was Kiba who then stole me, soon after swept away by Kankuro who then twirled me straight into Gaara. The other red head was hesitant, but he was determined as he glided me across the floor.

Not too long after, the announcement for the fireworks was announced as the others went in search of a good place to watch them. I smiled as I grabbed Gaara's hand and led him quickly to where mine and Naruto's secret spot would be. We passed behind the Uchiha compound and into the Sakura forest. The moon was full and shining bright as we soon made it to a large Sakura tree.

"What is this place?" He asked looking down at me. "This is mine and Naruto's secret hiding place. We used to watch the fireworks together on the night of festivals like this one. It's the best place to watch them," I smiled. "Up there?" He asked, turning his gaze to the top of the tree. "Yep," I nodded, but before I could say anymore, sand had lifted me up into the branches and sat us in the place we had sat before in my dream. Gaara was sitting on my left as I found his gaze over the lake. The night was glowing pink with the moonlight on the cherry blossoms. It was gorgeous all on its own.

"Holota?" Gaara spoke up. I just hummed, turning to face him, but he was still looking out over the water's still surface. "Do you like me?" He asked. I wasn't expecting this, but I had to let him know personally. I was at peace and I knew deep down that I truly did love him. "Yes, I do," I smiled, not taking my eyes off of him. He then turned to face me with surprised filled eyes... he seemed breathless. He was glowing within the moonlight, as I could see him clearly. He then came to his senses, "That feeling I told you about... do you feel the same?" I remembered back to the previous night to where he had confessed having feelings only I could give him. It was also true that he gave me warm fuzzy feelings no other could have given me... It was only him. I replied softy with, "Yes... I do feel the same."

He glanced to the side a bit, averting his eyes again, "We heard you girls talking in the hot springs today... I wanted to know if everything you said was true." I just giggled a little bit capturing his eyes again, "I know, that's why I said it." He blushed a little as I continued, "But I want you to know that I didn't fall in love because I have to one day, but because I fell in love with who you are." He seemed speechless again as I added, "And I want to go at a pace that is comfortable for you, even though the concept of love is kind of new for me too. It's the first time I've ever been in love like this." In the process of my rambling I ended up finding my hands rather interesting... but it was in that moment, Gaara had placed a finger under my chin to have me gently look up at him.

He was giving me a warm smile... a smile!

An actual smile!

My senses went hazy as my heart skipped beats and the butterflies fluttered as I felt warm and fuzzy all over. Did he really feel all this I was feeling right now? "We'll figure this out together then... you are mine after all," Gaara smirked. I was blushing and I knew it. He was too, but I was too afraid that if I'd say or do anything that smile of his would go into hiding. He didn't let me talk as we slowly closed the gap between us as we came in for a sweet and simple kiss. And at that exact moment, the fireworks went off, in between us and in reality, as Gaara slipped a cold band onto my left ring finger.

I pulled away to look at what was there as I found a diamond ring on my finger as he put his forehead to mine, "I... I love you too... and I'm willing to prove it. Kankuro said this way, no one else could have you." I looked back up to him and smiled, kissing him quickly once more, giving him enough time to respond before pulling away and replying with a breathless giggle, "I have faith you'll do so... and I'll promise you my love always."

He just smiled as he put and arm around my waist as we then turned to watch the fireworks... needless to say they didn't even match the ones that sparked when Gaara had kissed me. And I knew he felt them too. Kankuro was right though... Gaara really was all mine.
