Hospital Encounters

Kakashi had gone ahead of me as I waited out in the medical room to help out with any injured. But by the time I got back Kankuro had won his match, Sakura and Ino ended up fighting each other and ended up in a draw, Temari beat Tenten, Shika had beaten the sound girl Kin, Naruto had beat Kiba (Thank goodness!), Neji beat Hinata pretty bad... I was going to have to whoop his ass later, and Gaara ended up putting Lee in a serious state. For some reason I found myself blaming Shukaku instead of Gaara. It wasn't Gaara that wanted blood, it was Shukaku who was being the bad influence.

As I made my way out from the back, I passed Choji going into the infirmary. So he must have been beaten by the last of the sound ninja... poor Choji. I then made my way to join the others down on the floor, coming up beside my brother, making him over joyed, "Holota, you're alright!" He had thrown his arms around me and was literally squeezing me so tight I could have split in half. "Naruto," I choked, "breathing is a wonderful thing." "Oh sorry," He chuckled, letting go of me as I caught my breath.

"Congratulations to the ones who passed the third test," Hayate spoke up as he then turned to the Hokage, "Hokage sir." Hayate then went into a coughing fit. I swear, I was going to have to fix him whether the man liked it or not. The Third Hokage stood in front of us as he then began to speak, "Well, now I'd like to start explaining the main test..." The Hokage went on about how the third part of the exam was going to work.

By then I had noticed Kakashi 'poof!' away. I was getting a bad feeling as I quickly sent my senses out. But before too long Anko came around with a box full of paper with numbers on them to draw for the next line up. I had the number ten and was fighting against Dosu, from the Sound. Just my luck.

Just as a wave of alert hit me, the Hokage had announced that we were done but Shika had a question. Before anyone could say anything, however, Kaminari burst through the back doors, "Hokage, sir, I need, Miss Uzumaki right away, it's urgent!"

It turns out Kaminari looked nothing what I originally thought he'd look like. He had hazel eyes and spiky bangs and long straight white hair. He definitely had a fashion sense, but he was by all means completely straight. He was skinny, lanky, and very pale. He looked like a vampire!

"So urgent it couldn't wait a few moments longer?" The Hokage calmly questioned. I turned to him, "We've had a breach in security, sir... it's Yoru's squad and a few from Byakko's squad... They need me, sir." "How the hell did you know that?! You're clear across the village!" Kaminari bluntly freaked out. The Hokage didn't hesitate, "Get going." With that, I 'poofed!' straight to the hospital and heard a high pitch, "Whaaa!" of course it was none other than Nanami.

I headed straight down the hall as Kats followed me, both leaving the honey haired girl behind us. "Where's Kaminari?" He asked. "He should be on his way back, I came straight here," I seriously replied, "What happened?" "We had ANBU protecting Sasuke Uchiha's room, an order from the higher ups, and the ANBU were taken down with great ease. The enemy got in and-" I cut him off, "How is Uchiha?" "He's fine. Kakashi Hatake was there to protect him," He answered. "Good, and the ANBU?" I asked. He got silent. I stopped when we arrived as they began to move the ANBU corpses, "Dismissed."

With that Kats left as Kakashi came up to me, "Holota, what are you doing here?" I didn't turn to face him as I watched a hawk masked ANBU be carried out, "So this is what Kabuto was up to?" Kakashi seemed surprised, "You knew?" I still didn't look at him as I kept watching the hawk masked ANBU's corpse leave, "I knew he was up to something, but I didn't know what... I've always had a bad feeling about him, but I can't give an assumption without facts, which I had none. The only thing I ever had was he was off sense day one."

Kakashi seemed to study me as I continued to watch the hawk mask disappear, "Holota?" I didn't hesitate," How many ANBU were there?" "Um," Kakashi answered calmly, "five." "So Captain Yoru was among them..." I sighed. "How do you know-" I cut him off, "I'm the Head Co-Captain of the Medical Core. I'm in charge of personal files and information, supervise in mild injury, plan and organize surgery scenarios, and the main surgeon for Nero-threading. I have to know my patients inside and out, and that includes ANBU, Kakashi." I had turned to him by this point. Kakashi just scratched the back of his head, "Even ANBU?" "Even ANBU, Kakashi," I replied, "How's Uchiha?"

"He's alright," Kakashi answered. "Tell me, what happened, and who is that snake creep?" Kakashi just sighed as he told me everything. I was shocked but it made complete sense. "So Orochimaru wants Uchiha's eyes to obtain the Sharingan?" I summarized. "That's pretty much it," Kakashi sighed, glancing over to Uchiha. "And to think, I was able to hold my own against the Sanin for a decent amount of time..." I muttered. "You fought him?" Kakashi turned back to me surprised. I just nodded, "He used a Genjutsu when I was still bandaged up, but sent me flying across the forest to land me right in front of the Sand Genin. I was lucky."

"How where you lucky to land in front of the Sand Genin?" Kakashi asked, "Gaara seems like bad news." "Eh, Gaara's actually pretty alright," I shrugged, "but let's just say I had some pretty bad internal bone breaks and fractures... I passed out from chakra loss." "So that's how you all got separated," Kakashi concluded. I turned to glance at Uchiha, "Well, looks like we've got a long road ahead of us..."

It was silent before I spoke up again, "I don't get it." "Get what?" Kakashi asked. "Why wouldn't Orochimaru just abduct Uchiha? He could have taken him in the Forest of Death easily. I understand he wants him to fester, but he can do that anywhere. There's still something more. I mean, why come out of hiding all this way just to accomplish biting someone? It doesn't make sense," I explained. Kakashi thought on this and then replied with, "Maybe you should report to the Hokage after you're finished with the ANBU." I just nodded as I got up and left.

After a few hours of making the reports on the fallen ANBU and checking the injuries, I seriously couldn't have been more pissed at the jutsu Kabuto had used. It was a disgrace to any medical member to manipulate a corpse and replace their face... it disgust me!

But at the moment, my anger had calmed as I was now standing in front of a closed door. I sighed as I entered , stepping in, holding my breath and closing the door. "Yes, who's there?" A familiar voice called. It was no longer filled with confidence like it usually was. It was now filled with longing and tiredness. "Your student," I simply replied. Before me sat Kisuka. Dressed in a hospital gown, pale as clouds, and thinner than I could ever remember. Her scruffy black hair had grown out to her middle back as she just sat there with bandages now covering her eyes. "Holota?" I just replied with, "Yes." We were silent for awhile before I spoke up again, "Why?" The lady just smiled as she replied, "I can no longer be your teacher... what took my mother has now claimed me." I froze at this.

Kisuka's mother had fallen ill due to a genetic illness that had been passed down through the Yoshigawa generations. It always claimed the members of the clan at a young age, and unfortunately there was no cure to be found. By the time the illness hit, there was no time to research for it claimed its victims too soon and there was no source of where it would strike first within the body. The only thing we could predict, however, was the estimated day of death.

Surprisingly, the illness was genetic but when transfused into another body, the illness would disappear. We still hadn't figured out how to cure the disease sense it was extremely complex. Adding it to another's blood would make it completely dormant. Adding a drop to the host's blood, and it would attack it. My theory was the clashing of blood between the ocular branches from so long ago. But who was I to solve a long lost mystery? It was almost impossible to try and cure this curse.

"Don't worry though, there's good news," She was still smiling, "I'm going to be a mother." This surprised me even more. "I only have till then..." She continued. I looked down at the ground, "It's his, isn't it?" She paused before she smiled again, and nodded, "Yes, it is." "I'm guessing you've kept it secret to everyone, including the doctors and nurses?" She nodded again, "Yes, I have to." I just sighed, "Guess I have no choice but to keep my mouth shut too."

"But please, Holota, tell the Third Hokage. I also have to tell you something really important about my eyes," She explained. "Like why you have the Sharingan?" "So you know already?" She asked. "Yes, but is there more I need to know?" I edged on. She nodded, "Yes, much more. And I have a final request for you as a student... I can only hope the Third Hokage will agree."
