Naruto: Dreams Unraveled

A New Adventure

It was hard for me to imagine I had seen the future. I didn't much want to. Gaara had confirmed it was my Nozokugan, which only left me wondering if there was more to the ocular Kekkei Genkai than I originally knew. I mean, I was the only known person to obtain it. It was an ancient Namikaze trait that resided in one in every fifty. But seeing as the Uzumaki Clan had been reduced to Naruto and I, I didn't so much know the first thing about my abilities. Of course, I could say the same for the Namikaze chakra traits as well. But I had a better handle on the Uzumaki blood, wind style, than I did the Namikaze.

    I groaned, glaring up at the ceiling. I had made lunch for Gaara and I earlier before the other red head had demanded I get more rest before we set out. I couldn't so much argue, seeing as I desperately needed to sleep off the headache had had so suddenly obtained. After getting a few more hours of sleep, I had woken up to a silent house and sunny skies; the sandstorm had finally passed.

    Without too much said, and a note left for Kankuro and Temari, Gaara and I were off. We had passed through the gates of Suna just before the sun had set. The skies were now clear as the temperatures were beginning to drop. It would only be a matter of time before night fully set in. Gaara and I made little to no conversation; of course, we were both content with the others presence so there was really no need for conversation.

    Once far enough from the village, I stopped, catching Gaara's attention. "Is something the matter, Holota?" Gaara wondered. I gave a small smile, "No. But I'd rather make it to our destination within the next twenty four hours instead of the next two weeks." "And how do you suggest going about that?" Gaara asked, clearly interested on how I was going to make the seeming impossible task possible.

    With a quick bite to both of my thumbs, I summoned forth two of my summoning animals. "Summoning Jutsu: Silver Phoenix! Blood Bat!" Within two puffs of smoke came Silver, my silver phoenix, and a large, monstrous vampire bat. "Gaara, this is Silver," I gestured to my fire bird, "you might remember her. But this is Kyuketsuki, my giant vampire bat. Not the most friendly, but he's one hell of a companion." "Nice to see you too, Lady Holota," Kyuketsuki hissed out under his breath.

    Kyuketsuki was just as big as Silver. However, he had thick, tough black skin with tan fur covering his belly. His wings were huge, a set of claws on the v-ed tips pointing upwards. It was clear to tell he was a vampire bat, seeing as his nose perked upwards and his large hears were a bit bigger than his rounded head. His long, slender tail lashed from side to side with practiced patience. He had glimmering white fangs, red eyes, and sharp claws for feet. He was definitely something that could have came from something of nightmares. His attitude was crude to anyone other than myself, but respected the aspect of not wanting my friends killed.

    "So he's your other summoning," Gaara replied, remembering I had mentioned having another creature other than a cat. I nodded, "That's right. I'll be taking Kyuketsuki while you take Silver. She's relatively tame." "We'll be flying then," Gaara mused. "It beats walking," I shrugged, giving off a smile. After giving Gaara a few instructions on how to fly Silver, we took to the skies.

    It had been quite some time sense I had been flying just for the joy of it. The sky wasn't a shinobi's domain, but it had definitely become one of my elements. The wind whipped my hair around as we pushed upwards into the fluffy purple clouds. I was sure I had let out a laugh of delight at some point and spread my arms out as if I were flying too.

    I had caught sight of Gaara as we evened out, just past the clouds we had flown through and into the open air. The other red head was a bit breathless and hesitant, but he seemed to be enjoying the new views. Glancing around us, I found the sun to be setting; the sky turning purples, pinks, oranges, and yellows. It was stunning. Below us, we found the varying lands of every people. Behind us lie Suna, to our right lie Konoha, ahead of us lie the mountains and sea.
