I thought I was safe now, but I was completely wrong. I peeked out from my lashes, and the white linen and saw him shanding over me. He was an overweight middle aged man, with large bifocals, a nasty caramel colored come-over, and a large creepy mustache, to match. He had an evil grin on his face.
"I told you not to run. Now I'll have to kill you." He chortled darkly, as he raised a knife high above his head.
I could feel the blood-curdling scream ripping through my body, as I jolted out of bed, and curled myself up into a little ball, in the far corner of the room.
Steven shot up, wide-eyed and panicing.
"What the fuck?! Are you okay?!" He dashed over, and knelt down in front of me, maintaining distance to make sure I wouldn't have a panic attack if he touched me.
He noticed me trembling, and tears streaming down my face, and then ignored his better judgment. He came closer to me, and grabbed my hand, and pulled me into him.
I tried pushing him away, but I was sobbing too hard to exhert any more energy.
"Shh..." He cooed, trying to soothe me. "It's okay, Alex. It's okay. It was nothing but a bad dream."
The door suddenly burst open, and Joe and Joey were running over to us.
"Shit! Alex! Are you okay?! What the fuck happened?!" Joe cried out.
"Alex! You're okay! Calm down!" Joey tried soothing me, but he was so freaked out that I couldn't help but to cry harder.
"She had a bad dream." Steven tried explaining.
I burried my face into his neck, and continued sobbing.
I know I seemed like an idiot, but I couldn't escape the feeling that He was looking for me, and that sooner or later, he would find me.
"H-he's g-onna f-find-d m-me." I tried to speak in between sobs.
"Shh.. No he's not. We have a body guard that will protect you, 24/7." Steven continued trying to soothe me. He picked me up and carried me back to my bed.
He tried to place me down, but I wouldn't let go of him for some reason. I couldn't bare to let go. I felt as though If I let go, all the protection I had would crumble beneathe me, and he would find me, and kill me.
"Alex, you need to sleep. I'm here. I'm right next to you, in the other bed." He sat down on the bed, with me still in his lap, while he continued to stroke my hair.
"p-please, d-don't l-leave." I whispered in between my short breaths. He looked directly into my piercing eyes, which were now bloodshot.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
I nodded, as he climbed under the cover with me.
"I want all of you guys here." I whispered as Joey and Joe turned to leave the room. They stopped in their tracks, and turned to look at me, perplexed.
"All of us? Here? Like... in the same bed?" Joey gasped.
I faintly smiled and nodded.
"Okay! I call sleping next to Alex then!" he chuckled and bounded over to the bed, and landed a spot next to me, while Steven still cuddled close to me.
"I'll go get the others then." Joe rolled his eyes.
I tried to still my breathing, as Joey and Steven both calmed me down.
Moments later, Joe came back into the room with Tom, and Brad who were rubbing their eyes.
"What is this a slumber party?" Tom yawned, and trudged over to the bed, plopping down next to Steven, while Joe and Brad made their way over and fell asleep next to Joey and I.
I'm extremely surprised the bed fit all of us. Though we were close together, which would usually make me feel claustrophobic, I felt strangely safe, and protected.
Steven began to hum a soothing melody, and in seconds we were all asleep, curled in each others arms.
