My Decision

Hazel Pov

Today is the day I become Alpha, Caleb is upset about it but won't admit to it, he was gonna be Alpha and spent his life devoted to being one but then I showed up, he has barely spoken to me lately, Jack keeps telling me Caleb envy's me but I don't know who in their right mind wants the pressure of being an Alpha, honestly I don't even want this but I also don't want to disappoint my Dad.

I was sitting on my bed with Jack laying down with his head on my lap "hey stop freaking out" He says amused, I place my forehead on his "sorry I just don't want to disappoint anyone" I said sighing "I know, but you'll be fine, you have me" He says reassuringly, I lift my head and softly kiss his forehead "I love you, Jack" I murmur as I stroke his cheek "I love you too, Hazel" He says smiling up at me.

He sits up an turns around "come here" He says holding his arms out, I crawl onto his lap wrapping my legs around his waist an he embraces me in his warm arms. "The ceremony starts soon" He murmurs, I pull back "yeah I know" I said sighing "you'll be fine" He says smiling an pecks my lips "HAZEL, its time" I hear Dad call out sounding excited.

I softly kiss Jack before we left my room an walk down stairs, I intwine our hands as we join everyone outside where Dad organised a huge party with a stage and everything, I gulp hard and noticed the step monster glaring at me as Jack joins Caleb, Buffy, Olivia & a few others at a table while I join Dad on stage.

"Everyone, today I depose my role as your Alpha an would like to announce our new Alpha, my first born, Hazel who has shown she is responsible enough for this and will be a great leader, Hazel would you like to say some words" Dad says smiling proudly at me, I was sweating and couldn't feel my feet at this point, I step forward and Jack was giving me a worried look as I stand there like an idiot.

"I- I can't do this" I said an ran off stage "HAZEL" I hear yelling as I run through the woods, I ran until I couldn't anymore and sat against a tree with my head in my hands, I waited almost an hour before I walk back to see most people still waiting "Hazel" Jack says relieved pulling me into his arms and kissing my head before he pulls away when my Dad approaches us.

"I'm sorry Dad, I don't want to be Alpha, Caleb does though he's been dying to be Alpha, I can't stand that sort of responsibility, please don't be mad" I said frowning as I stare at my feet, I blink startled when he hugs me "of course I'm not mad, you should have just told me the truth" He says smiling warmly as he pulls away.

"I didn't want to disappoint you" I said softly "nothing you do will ever disappoint me, Hazel, now come on let's go introduce the new Alpha" He says smirking, I grin an kiss Jack's cheek before I follow Dad back on stage "sorry everyone for the long wait but Hazel is back now and we can continue, Hazel the stage is yours" Dad says sternly.

"I've made my decision to respectfully deny the opportunity to become your Alpha and would like to introduce your new Alpha, my brother, Caleb Luther" I said grinning. Caleb froze an Buffy had give him a shove, he stands up an everyone claps or whistles as he walks onto stage and hugs me tightly, he shakes Dad's hand, I walk off stage as Caleb says a few words.

Everyone started celebrating as I sit on Jack's lap "you did an amazing thing, I'm proud of you" He whispers an kissed my cheek, I smile at him "your all I need" I said an softly kiss his tender lips. We pull away an I look at Buffy "sup Luna" I said smirking, she flips me off before she went to go see Caleb who looked so happy, I did the right thing by letting him be Alpha...
