Part 33: Jeopardize

AC's POV

I supposed to say I'm not going to the Ball when Keziah asked me about that escort thing. I dont know what gotten into me, I say otherwise than what's on my mind. Maybe I'll just wanted to know what would be Lucky's reaction after hearing it. But he didn't say anything, nor tried to comment about it. So he's okay with it. Yeah, maybe because he's going with Margareth too. Great right?!

The whole break just pass with only one topic, that Foundation Ball.

I know inside me I don't wanna miss it too. Maybe I'll just go with flow and be conditioned that Lucky and I will be having another partner. He with Margareth, Me with Brace.

Before, I always see myself in Lucky's arm while I'm proudly walking down with him as my escort. But dreams and reality often in contrast. This is the reality, I'm walking with someone else and some proud girl will be hanging in his arms.

We went back to our classroom and do the students life. Afternoon session just pass without noticing it.

After our last teacher bids her good bye on us, my classmate rush out in the door to go. While me stuck in my seat and still weighing things out. Brace texted me his already in the parking waiting for me. As I turned to see Lucky, he's already near in the door. I want to call him but I got interrupted by my phone that is vibrating inside my pocket.

I read the message and its come Brace again.

When I look back at the door, I couldn't able to see Lucky anymore. He leave.

I stood up, grab my bag and walk to the parking.

I am near when I saw Brace leaning his back in the car window and she's talking to someone, no scratch that, it's not someone because I perfectly know the girl. Margareth Romualdez!!

They seems arguing on something. Are they close? After a while, Margareth went away riding in her car and drive out in the parking.

Brace look at my direction, and wave his hands after seeing me.

"Kanina ka pa dyan?" he asked me, and he seems troubled.

"No, not so while, kerarating ko lang"

" Ah, okay, common, I'll drive you home"

I wanted to asked him regarding Margareth, but I hold back. Who wouldn't know Margareth or Brace? They move in thesame circle, so I just dismiss the thought. My mind back presently when Brace speak.

"Can we go to a restaurant first, I don't take my lunch, my producer called me for a meeting"

I just nod at him.

We arrived in a fancy restaurant..again!!.. And again I'm on my uniform!

We headed to one of the table inside and settled ourselves. We eat our early dinner.

Afterwards, one of the waiter handed me a cardboard, design in fancy materials with a word "BE". I was hesitant in accepting it and I look at Brace, he signaled me with his hands to accept it. The next waiter handed me with thesame cardboard with a word "MY". I am starting to get nervous, I can now seems get the whole sentence. There goes again with another one with a word "GIRLFRIEND"..my world stop on turning..and the last word is "PLEASE". To combined it all, it's stated "BE MY GIRLFRIEND PLEASE"

I was shocked, Brace put me in a situation like there's no turning back. He's like leaving me with no choice. I don't want him to get embarrassed, but I don't want to jeopardize my feelings, I don't give a bargain. It's my feeling that involved here.

After that, he bent down his knees.

"I know you're surprise right now, because it's clearly shown on your face. I know I'm rushing things a little. But believe me, those short days you let me know you, makes my heart grow ponder on loving you this way." Brace proclaiming it in front of the people in the restaurant.

I put my hands on my chest and feel if my heart is trobbing, yes! it's trobbing but because I'm doubtful and uncertain. I don't want him to get embarrass in the eyes of everyone that is present right now, that's for sure.

"Ahm..Brace could you please stand up, you know, there's no reason for me to ignore all the effort you have done, and to be honest I'm so much overwhelmed, but please just give me a little more time to think it over. I want to be sure if ever." I told him wishing he will understand.

I saw him with a disappointed gesture, but he manage to say.

"I will take that positively, and I'm hoping you will give me a chance of loving you"

I just nod.

Before we go home, I informed him regarding the Ball. And yeah! He will be my escort.
