When Sarah was waiting for the elevator to bring her up to her floor, she was going over what she would say to Avery if she asked where she was. She decided on saying she just got bored and went for a walk in Central Park. It seemed reasonable. Plus she only lived about 10 minutes from Central Park anyway. It was sort of true, so she wasn't totally lying. She did go for a walk in Central Park, she just wouldn't tell Avery she wasn't alone. The doors finally opened and she made her way to the door. She searched for her keys and slowly opened the door just incase Avery was sleeping. It was almost 4, Avery always took a nap around 4 basically everyday. Sarah never questioned it, and today it meant she wouldn't have to tell Avery where she was. For at least another hour or so anyway. This was good though it gave her time to practice her lie and make sure Avery would believe it. She quietly put her keys in the bowl on the table by the door. She kicked off her toms and padded to the kitchen to grab a water bottle. She tried to be as quiet as possible to not wake Avery.

When she got to her room, she heard her phone go off. Shit she forgot to put it on silent. When she pulled it out to see who would be calling, of course it just so happened to be Maria. It's not that she didn't like Maria, it's just Maria had a way, and Sarah got easily annoyed by her way. Or in other words Maria could be a total bitch. But sometimes she was tolerable. The only reason she put up with Maria was because Avery liked her, other wise she would've slapped her a long time ago.

"Hello?"

"Hey boo! Where Avery?" Boo? When the fuck did she start calling Sarah boo? Sarah rolled her eyes. Maria's tone was so fake too.

"She has her own phone why wouldn't you just call her on that?"

"Oh honey I've tried but she wasn't picking up so I thought I'd try your phone." Sarah never should've given this bitch her number.

"Well she's sleeping."

"Shit. Ok well tell her to call me about our double date tomorrow."

"Uhh sure."

"Thanks! Love you loads!" Yeah, yeah whatever. Sarah knows she doesn't like her, so why does she have to act like she does? It's annoying.

"Bye." Sarah didn't feel like joining Maria's stupid little act.

She put her phone on vibrate just incase some one else calls. She plopped herself on her bed and began to smile. Today was the best day she's had in a while. She knew she wasn't going to leave the house again so she went to the bathroom to take off her make up. She put her hair in a pony tail and began to wipe off the makeup from today. She washed her face just get whatever didn't come over with the remover. She was sweating.

"It's like a fucking sauna in here." She whispered to herself. She took off her shirt from today, but left her tank top on, and put on some pyjama shorts. She opened her door careful not to make it creek, and walked over to turn on the air conditioning. It's summer, it should be on.

When she made her way back she heard Avery wake up.

"Sarah?"

"Yeah?"

"When did you get back?"

"Uhh about 20 minutes ago."

"Oh, where did you go?" Avery was stretching out her back. The couch was comfortable, but it just depends on the way you sleep on it.

"I just took a walk. By the way, Maria called." She brought up Maria to make divert the subject onto something else.

"What did she want?"

"Something about your double date tomorrow?"

"Oh yeah shit. I completely forgot!"

Sarah could've made a comment about how Avery has so many guys that of course she would forget but she kept it to herself.
