Chapter 27

"So why was he beside you? Why was he talking to you? What did he say? Why did you even let him near you Sarah?" Avery pressed.

"Can you stop with the questions? Jesus you sound like Niall." Sarah's mind was too clouded to handle all the questions because she knew that when she tells Niall he'll do the same.

Avery rolled her eyes. "Well your boyfriend and I think alike."

"Can I just tell you what happened?" Sarah begged.

"Yeah go."

"So I was sitting down and in walks Justin. I was flipping out I just couldn't believe it! First what happened yesterday with Hailey and.."

"Woah wait! What happened with Hailey?"

"She's with one of Niall's friends, and I was with them yesterday."

"So what did she say to you?" Avery was acting like a mom whose daughter came home two hours after curfew and wanted to know everything and why she was late. But to Sarah, Avery was just being annoying. She knew that Avery just cares a lot about Sarah, this was just one of her ways of showing it.

"She asked if I... Healed ok.."

"What a bitch!" She blurted then covered her mouth and looked to Sarah.

Sarah just nodded to let Avery know she didn't have to feel bad.

"Anyway, Justin sat beside me and he told me he got help. I was really shocked. Then after class I tried my hardest to get out if there when he told me he still cares about me. Can you believe that? Two years later he says this! I bet he was hoping I would feel sorry for him and I wo.."

"No Sarah." Avery interrupted. She knew exactly where she as going. "You're not getting back together with him." She scolded.

"I'm not an idiot Avery.."

"I didn't say you were. Justin isn't one either. I wouldn't start trusting him Sarah. He could be lying about the help thing. Just don't fall for his crap."

"Ok, I won't." Sarah said.

"Promise me."

"Avery I'm not.."

"Please?"

"Fine I won't." Sarah sat back in her seat. She promised herself a long time ago she wouldn't get back with him. Now she has Niall. Sarah is more grateful for Niall then anyone will ever know or even understand.

*Niall at work

Niall was a little disappointed that Avery got to pick up Sarah. He also felt like he was thinking too much into it. It doesn't really matter who picked her up just as long as she would call him later.

"You ok bud?" Jade asked pulling him out of his thoughts.

"Huh? Oh, yeah..." He looked around and saw that he was just standing with a tshirt in his hand and other ones that he had to fold. He must've gotten side tracked.

"So how's everything with Sarah?" Jade asked to change the somewhat awkward mood.

"Great actually." Niall beamed.

"That's good Niall. I'm happy for you." She rubbed his back and got back to helping customers.

The second Jade left, Niall felt worried again. He couldn't help but feel there was a reason why Sarah asked Avery to pick her up.

Soon his shift was over. This shift felt like one of longest. Once he got out, and headed to his car. The first thing he did was take out his phone and dialled Sarah's number.

"Hey!" She answered after two rings.

"Hey!" Niall answered back.

"How was work?"

"Same as every other day; boring. How was school?" Niall asked.

There was a long pause.

"Sarah?"

"Oh, sorry school was ... Pretty shitty." She giggled on the other end. "I just can't wait to be done."

"So what are you doing now?"

"Chris came over for like five minutes and now he and Avery went shopping. So I did some reading for one of my classes and now I'm watching Adventure Time."

"The fucks that?" Niall laughed at the crazy things his girlfriend watched.

"It's a cartoon show, it's hilarious. Don't judge me!" She laughed along. "You should watch it sometime."

"Can I watch it with you?" Niall asked.

"No.."

"Oh.. Sor.."

"Niall I'm joking. Come." She laughed to herself.

"Wow Sarah, you got me for a second there! And I'm on my way."

"See you soon." Sarah hung up.

After that phone call Niall felt better hearing her happy voice and knowing everything's ok made him feel a lot better.

*Sarah's apartment

She was anxious for Niall to come over. She was just nervous because of how worked up over the Justin situation.

Minutes later Niall was at the door.

Sarah opened it greeted Niall with a kiss and a hug. "From now on, don't ask to come over. Just come, ok?"

"But what if you're not home?" Niall questioned.

"Then just text me ahead of time so I can tell if I'm not." She answered.

Sarah walked over to the couch while Niall kicked off his shoes. Once he got to the couch he sat down beside Sarah and put his arm around her. On the screen were cartoon characters. A tall boy and a small yellow dog.

"Sarah what the fuck do you watch?"

"This show is hilarious!" She defended.

Niall figured out the boys name was Finn and the dogs name was jake. They lived in this giant tree thing and were lying down in bed with broken legs. There were clown nurses everywhere. Finn didn't like the clown nurses and wanted to get better his own way. Finn escaped the clown nurses and ran into a forest with two pathways one that would make you smell and one that would leave you with out hair. Sarah cackled. Niall didn't understand why she was laughing so hard. This was a kids show for crying out loud.

When Sarah calmed down she turned to look at Niall. He looked so uncomfortable.

"Niall you look like you're gonna shit your pants.."

"Sarah I honestly can't believe you watch this show.."

She turned her body to face him. "How are you not laughing at this?" She held her hand out towards the tv.

"Because I'm not 7."

"You're crazy." Sarah shook her head, and Niall rolled his eyes.

Sarah remembered what she had to do. She suddenly felt sick.

"Niall I gotta tell you something."
