Niall's stomach was in knots. He wondered what they had to talk about. Normally when people say "we need to talk", it isn't usually a happy topic. He was praying that it wasn't anything he didn't want to hear. So first she didn't call him back, no messages, and now she wants to talk. Thinking about what she had to say was just making him even more anxious. So he decided to put his thoughts to rest and find out what she needed to talk to him about.
*Yeah, what's wrong?*
*I need to do this in person, so can you come over around 2?*
Shit.
*Yeah, but is everything ok?*
*I'm hoping.*
Her last reply made him feel sick. Suddenly he wasn't in the mood to do anything. He had to though. He would for sure go insane if he just sat around thinking and waiting until 2. Niall couldn't think of anything to say after that so he just didn't reply.
The sad part is, he really liked Sarah. If she was ending things, he didn't know what his reaction would be. He didn't want to let her go. She was too important to him.
Niall thought their relationship was going great. They hadn't fought, they hung out often and called each other before they went to bed. Did Sarah not feel anything for him anymore? Did he say or do something to make her not want him anymore?
He had enough of the negative thoughts. If he didn't leave now, he would be incredibly late for school and that wasn't an option. Today was off with a rocky start.
When Niall got to his class, he found it difficult to focus. His prof was just rambling on and on and Niall wasn't even paying attention. How could he? After the scare he had this morning, how was he supposed to do anything?
*Sarah's apartment
Her head began to spin as it was almost time for Niall to arrive. Her heart was pounding and she was shaking a bit. Something that happened when she got really nervous. She felt like a load of crap. She should have warned from the start about Avery but she didn't. There was no going back on this. She let too much time go by, and strong feelings were starting. She wasn't expecting Niall to understand. In fact, she was expecting him to get mad at her. He had every right to be.
Her heart stopped when she heard a knock at the door. This is it. She shot up off the couch and walked over to the door. When she opened the door, she saw a worried Niall. He looked nervous and concerned. Which made her feel a million times worse.
"Hi." She sighed.
"Hey," Niall started as Sarah signalled him to come in, "what was so important you had to do it in person?"
"You might wanna sit on the couch. I don't know how you're gonna take it."
Oh god this is it. He's getting dumped.
"Sarah I.."
"No Niall, before you say anything can you just hear me out?" Sarah looked frightened almost.
"Yeah.. Go ahead." Niall said. He felt his heart speed up. As if it wasn't going fast already.
"So I haven't exactly been truthful."
To him?
"Not to you." She said as if she read his mind. "To Avery. And actually now that I think about it, I wasn't fair to you either."
What was she talking about? He was confused.
Sarah felt a lump growing in her throat making the next thing she was about to say harder.
