Tris p.o.v:
"Tobias it's not that-" I don't get to finish since the door opens and Emily enters. Tobias gets off the bed when he sees Emily and sits in the chair next to the bed. She only has a tube. Wait, is that toothpaste?
She smiles at us before walking towards the bed. "Tris, I'm gonna put this blue gel on your stomach. It'll allow me to see if your intestinal tract is damaged or not. When you were in a coma, we couldn't really do anything but treat your gun wounds."
Tobias lifts up my shirt so my stomach is exposed and presses his lips to my forehead. Emily applies the gel-like substance onto my bare skin. She waves a remote over the gel and points the remote towards the screen.
Emily clicks a button. "We'll have to wait for a minute or two for the results to pop on the screen." She pointed to the screen she had to go back for.
A minute goes by in silence and now we can see the results.
"Okay. It looks like your organs are intact. And there's no infection from the bullet wounds. You're welcome. I can't tell from just a picture."
My hands start to sweat so I wipe them on my pants. Tobias seems to notice, since he rubs his thumb on my hand.
I look up at his concerning eyes and squeeze his hand.
"Tris" I turn my attention from Tobias to Emily. "To get full results, I want you to take a liquid so within the next hour we'll have our final results."
<---------------->
Once I took the liquid Emily gave me, all we could do was wait. Emily said she would come back in a hour. She said I couldn't eat until we have the final results.
Tobias gets up from the chair and sets the food on down on it. Tobias climbs onto the bed with me.
I don't look at him, instead I look straight ahead. Staring at a spot on the far wall across from me.
When I don't say anything Tobias gathers me in his arms. "Tris wants wrong?"
I shift my body so I look at him. Once I'm done positioning myself, I open my mouth but just as soon close it. I just shake my head since I can't seem to can't the words out.
Tobias caress my cheek with his hand. With his other hand, Tobias takes my chin so I'm looking at him.
"Tris you can tell me."
"There's a lot of things Tobias. I really don't know Emily. I just don't really trust her. I don't trust those kinds of people anymore. Of what Jeanine put me through. The serums and simulations. Even David. I don't know if I can trust those people again like I did before."
Tobias looks at me with a mix of emotions on his face. I avert my eyes away from his stare. I look up when speaks.
"Tris, I'm sorry. I should've talked to you first about what Emily wanted to do. I just thought since Emily is a nurse and not a scientist, you would trust her. Please Tris, Emily is not like Jeanine if that's what your thinking. She just wants you to be healthy."
"Tobias, I'm thankful for what she did when I was in the coma, but I still don't know if I should trust her. I just met her on top of it and I find out you and her are friends. But Tobias I do trust you. If you trust her then I'll do this so we can get on with our life."
