Tobias p.o.v:

Three words.  Tris. Is.  Pissed.  I couldn't blame her.  I mean, I kept a secret this big from her.  She deserved to know, yet I kept it from her.  I sighed in defeat because I know I have to tell her.  "Okay.  You deserve to know."

She let out a sigh of relief.  "So where do you want me to start?"

"From the beginning.  I want to know what the hell is going on.  I had to find the answers myself, but I want to know if it's actually true.  Tell me, Tobias."

"This whole thing started when you woke up.  Well no.  Actually no, sometime before that even."  I paused looking at Tris.  She had a confused expression on her face.

"So when I was in a coma it started."

"Yeah."

"I don't understand when I was in the coma, I could see people.  My subconscious followed you."

"It depends when you started seeing and hearing people Tris."  Tris looks like she's about to fall over with information.  I grabbed her by the waist and at the sudden touch she looked up at me.  "Let's sit down.  I don't want you falling over.  Plus it'll be easier to tell you without having to worry."

She still looks mad but nods her head.  "Okay."

I help Tris over to the couch where we both take a seat.  Tris is a little bit away from me.  I know she's mad at me, so I don't go any closer to her.

"Tris, when you were in a coma it was dangerous then for Emily and Valerie to be helping you.  They-". I didn't get to finish my sentence because Tris interrupts me.

"Then why did they help me?  I know Emily said I deserve a life but why?"

"They knew the risks they were taking.  And yes, Tris, Emily wanted you to have a life since you didn't get to have a life because of the war.  You sacrificed everything so you can stop the war.  She wanted to give you a second chance for a life."

I remember Emily saying this to me.  I had asked her the same thing Tris asked me.  She told me wanted to help Tris because she's done her part in ending the war, but now she wants to help her get the life she was supposed to have to begin with.  Emily wanted to her a second chance at life.  It was then in that moment that I knew Emily wasn't doing this because she's a nurse, she was doing it for Tris.

Tris didn't say anything for a couple of minutes. She was probably digesting the information I told her about Emily.

"Go on Tobias."  I know she wants to hear all of it.  By stopping all the time it's probably pissing her off.  But I'm only doing that so she can digest the information I'm telling her.

"David didn't even know you were in a coma, Tris.  Emily wanted to keep it that way.  She wanted to keep you a secret.  She only told me."  I paused for a mere second to collect my thoughts together.  "If David found out, then who knows what he would do."

Tris's eyes widen.  She's probably putting all the pieces together from what I told her and what she found out on her own.  I should've told her in the first place.  There was no way I could've hid it from her forever.

"Is she still keeping me a secret from David?"  She asks me quietly.

"Yes.  So is Valerie."
