Sam and I both stayed home from school on Thursday. We called and texted each other all day. It went by slow and we both wanted to die from boredom.

When Friday came around, we were both ready for school. I got dressed and ready early that morning. I curled my hair and wore skinny jeans, a hoodie, and some boots. I drove to Sam's house and let myself in the front door.

"Hey! It's Piper!" I yelled as I walked in.

Layla ran towards me. "Piper!" She screamed. "Hi!"

"Hey." I gave her a little hug then walked upstairs to see Sam. I went down the hall and opened the door to his room. "Sam." I said. "Let's g-"

Sam was dancing around his room with his iPod blasting in his ears. He only had on a pair of boxers. His dance moves were lame and hilarious.

I burst out laughing. "Sam!" I screamed and waved my arms. "Sam!"

"Whoa!" Sam jumped and fell on his butt. "H-hey, Piper. What are you doing here s-so... so early?"

I covered my smile with my hand. "I wanted to talk."

"Well, I have to get dressed so make it snappy." Sam started rummaging through his drawers of clothes.

I sat on his bed and thought for a moment. "So, remember that girl you said you liked?"

Sam stared at me. "How could I forget her?"

"Well," I started, "I think you should ask her out sooner."

He gave me a weird look as he slid his t-shirt over his head. "Why?"

I raised my eyebrows. "Two weeks is a long ways away."

"It's more like a week and three days." Sam replied. "The Green Fields game is in a week from this Monday."

I smiled. "Oh."

There was a silence.

"Are you anxious about finding out who it is?" Sam asked.

I nodded. "I'm wondering who it is, yeah."

"You just have to wait!" He exclaimed as he out some pants on.

I laughed.

"What's so funny?" Sam asked.

"I should know these things! I'm your best friend, Sam. Come on, you have to tell me! Give me a clue?" I begged. "Please?"

He paced around his room. "No, it'll give it away."

"No it won't! You know me! I will have no clue whatsoever!" I smiled. "Sammy, come on!"

"She's got the most amazing smile." He answered. "That's all I'm going to say."
