Original POV: Denny

I sat at the outside football bleachers with a devastated feeling inside me. Ever since Blake didn't have time to answer the question about being mines, I don't know...I felt weird. I avoided lunch; I avoided looking at him every time he was only a few feet away. It seemed like he kept trying to get to me at sometimes in the hallway, but I kept avoiding him. In Chemistry, he kept trying to talk to me. But then he just gave up and started talking to Logan.

Elaine hasn't said a word to me either, and that's how I want it to stay. Now I was up on the stadium, watching the both of them practice; watching my stupid uncle coach and yell at them every time they did something wrong and what not. I breathed out a sigh and my breathing flopped my bang in the air for a second. I need to start driving...soon.

In the middle of watching it all, I felt my cell phone vibrate in my bag that sat on my lap still. I rummaged through it curiously and finally fished the vibrating device out, seeing that it was a text message from Erica.

''you @ home yet?'

'no :/'

'how long will practice be?'

Just as I was about to answer her back with an 'I don't know', Roy called out to me. I looked up and dropped my cell phone on the bleachers. "Hmm?" I asked him loudly, raising my eyebrows in confusion.

"Why don't you come down here and count the number of times these boys do sit ups?" He smiled warmly at me, and I could tell that somewhere in that smile, was a message. An apology message. I don't know why he was so sorry all of a sudden, and I'm not about to give in that easily. But...I was tired of just sitting up here, cold and confused on whether I should just give up on guys and turn lesbian and see if Erica was interested. Yeah, I almost took that into consideration.

None the less, I went down the steps and shrugged as if to saying 'I guess so'. The guys watched me as I walked down, and it was sort of awkward. Blake was smiling at me, and for the millionth time today, I turned away from him. I crossed my arms and turned to Roy, "So what do you want me to do, Coach?" I asked, ignoring the calm winds infiltrating my ears and nostrils. I was sure I would have a cold later on that day.

"You just seem bored up there, and I figure you would want to do something while you were here," Coach handed me a clipboard and it had a sit-ups chart list. I stared at it, wide eyed. "You did this before, so it shouldn't be that hard." He started to walk off towards the school building, "I'll be right back."

I stiffened my back. He's going to leave me out here, with these guys? And by guys, I mainly mean Blake and Elaine. "Are you serious...?" I mumbled to myself. If this was his way of apologizing to me, then boy, he needs to brush up on compensating! It's going to be super awkward!

I turned to every single member of the team, and they watched me with silent eyes.

"Well, aren't you going to coach us?" One guy asked, raising an eyebrow.

I gave him the weirdest look ever, "What?"

"Coach put you in charge until he comes back," Another one said, "So what do you want us to do next?"

I sighed and my eyes raked across the air to lay back down onto the clipboard. I was trying to avoid Blake and Elaine's eyes, to decrease the amount of 'already awkwardness' in the atmosphere. I stared at the scoring sheet and looked back up at all of them (minus Elaine and Blake). "Well...I guess you guys should do sit ups?" It sounded more like a question than a command, and doing as said anyway, they dropped to the ground and did as they were told. "Um, good." I said aloud, glancing back at the score sheet. "If you want a perfect score, then you have to do 153 of those..."
