"You...you what?" Erica asked me with shocked eyes. I just stared at her.
Did I do something wrong when I had sex with Blake the other night? Or was it just wrong that I told her? Well, regardless of if it was wrong or not, I still did. It was in the evening time, and we were sitting down at the smoothie shop together. I decided I wanted to discuss it with her there. Anyway, ever since Blake and I had that moment, we haven't talked to each other the past days. I mean, we'd exchange smiles at each other but that was it. It kind of makes me feel a little insecure. If we ever started talking again, it'd be super awkward. Right?
"Oh my god!" She started squealing. I raised an eyebrow at her. She started breathing hard. Hyperventilating maybe? "Denny, you don't know how happy I am! You guys are together again? This is great news!"
I started laughing awkwardly and playing with my fingers, "Well, I wouldn't say..."
"Now we get to have double dates with Logan and Blake! This...this is-"
"We're not together still." I told her.
"What?" She stopped hyperventilating and calmed down in her seat. "What do you mean?"
"It's exactly what I mean."
"But...but you two had sex. Okay? Two people just don't do that and not call it anything. There is definitely something going on here."
I rolled my eyes at her, "Well...he hasn't said anything to me. Just like I haven't said anything to him."
"One time thing, huh?" She said in a disappointed smile.
"I guess." My heart ached when I said this.
"Well...maybe there's still a chance. Be hopeful, okay?"
"I don't think it will do me any good."
Erica just watched me for a few seconds and sighed, then she turned to a random employee, "Can you send over two more strawberry smoothies?"
The girl smiled, "Sure."
* * *
I honestly thought Erica would keep her mouth shut. You know? Like a best friend would. But...she didn't. She told Logan, and then Logan told Ryan and Elaine. Elaine's pissed at me and won't even look at me. Then Ryan told Allison, and she told Cassidy. Cassidy was the one to actually not say anything afterwards. But does it matter? All my friends know now, so it's as if the chain stopped at her on purpose. Blake didn't really know that it was going around, not until Elaine brought it up to him.
"Heard you and Denny left the club together just because you couldn't wait to have her for yourself that night." He spat out.
Blake raised an eyebrow at him. "It's not like you and her had anything going on, Elaine. I-"
"Whatever. I hope you two enjoy each other. Maybe it happened for a reason. Maybe it's because I deserve someone better than Denny, and a better friend than you." His eyes went like slits at Blake, and all of us just stood there. We thought there would be a total fist fight, but Elaine just backed off and went into his room.
I sighed. Blake spared a glance at me and his face looked weird for a second. I honestly had nothing to say to Elaine. All I wanted was to know where Blake and I stood. Were we good, or...? Allison chewed on her lip and smacked her teeth, as if she gave in and went to see if Elaine was okay immediately. Sometimes I think it's good that she's changed, you know? For the better. But sometimes her kindness was a little overwhelming. I stood there, helpless, and Erica patted me on the back.
