Me not writing for a little over two weeks was torture. I am very sorry about the delay and I promise I will try not to do it again! For all of you who saw the unfinished chapter... I'm sorry. That wasn't supposed to be posted and just pretend it never even existed, kay?

Blake's POV

"And are you sure you want to do this?" I asked my mom, who stared at me with sure enough eyes.

"Yes, I am," She darted her eyes off to the far side of the living room, and then she sighed, "Blake, you don't seem so happy about this plan."

I blew out an exasperated sigh, "Well for starters, I sort of promised Denny and the others that I'd try to have the best summer with them. No offense or anything, but this whole California trip wasn't a part of my summer's agenda." I tried to search for the humor in it all somehow someway, but this wasn't funny...at all.

I'm going to California with my mom. For the summer. I'll be far away from my friends.

Even worse...

I'll be far away from Denny.

I grew tense at the thought of it and my mom's voice broke my train of thought. "Well, I'm already going to buy the plane tickets, and my mind's made up. I just think I need to get away from here a little while. See some family, you know? It'll help me grieve better." Mom assured.

"I guess." I mumbled. I was trying not to be selfish, to not yell and shout and go all ape. I wanted to do what was best for my mom, and me complaining about not wanting to go wasn't going to help, I'm afraid. And then it hit me....

I looked up at my mom, who was busy looking at the TV to say anything else. She turned to me and raised a dark eyebrow.

"Graduation gift." I blurted it out.

"What, honey?" She asked, not hearing me right.

"Graduation gift. You said you could let me do anything over the summer with my friends as a graduation gift. Please mom?" I begged of her.

"Honey, the rest of the family would like to see you," She stated, "They haven't saw you in ages!"

"No. I was thinking...I mean, I know this is going to be really expensive, and I mean really expensive, but...can my friends come too? Please?"

"Come to Malibu?" Her voice sounded doubtful.

"Yeah. It's perfect. It's a win win. You'll get what you want and I'll get what I want! I promise I won't beg for anything else."

"Blake, I don't know. I'll...I'll have to think about it. What if their parents don't approve? And do you know how expensive it'll be to buy them plane tickets, and make sure they have rooms to stay in?"

"You could stay with Aunt Leslie and give us the rented beach house. You have no time to think about it! Please?" I tried not to sound too excited, I mean, she could say no. That's what I didn't want for her to do. If she said no, I'd be devastated. And I'd have to convince her to let me stay here.

She stared at me for a long while. And that's when she sighed. I raised my eyebrows, chewing on my bottom lip at the same time.

"It also depends on how many you bring."

Denny, Elaine, Logan, Allison, Erica, Ryan...

I'm pretty sure Ein wouldn't want to come.

"Six." I said it quickly.

She sighed, "They better be experts at convincing their parents." She mumbled. I heard her correctly, right? I did! I got up and gave my mom a big hug, and she sighed.
