How Can I Love You When I Hate You So Much? (Draco Malfoy) Chapter 4

Chapter 4 So much for first day jitters

The greasy haired professor was waiting at the bottom of the stairs when I left Dumbledore's office.  He started walking before I had even reached the borrom of the stairs, and I had to run to catch up to him a little ways down the hallway.

'Professor Snape, I presume?' I said, trying to mimick his slow drawl. He rolled his eyes and before he could say it, I rolled out a slow sarcastic 'Obviously.' The man turned to face me, but he wasn't angry as I suspected. 

'You are a Black, aren't you...' He muttered. Before I could respond, we had reached a large archway with two snakeheads above it. 

'Pureblood.' Snape said clearly. The doorway opened into a large room decorated with emerald and silver. 'Remember your password. I won't be telling you again.' He turned on his heel, his black cloak whipping behind him, making me think of a bat. 

'See you in NEWT Potions tomorrow, Professor!' I called cheekily. Again, he slowed down before shaking his head and continuing on his path. 

I walked into the common room and looked around. Green and silver were the obvious color scheme. Despite being in a dungeon, it was surprisingly warm. A fire crackled from the west side of the room. Before I could investigate any further, a small dark haired girl ran up to me. 

'Hi! My name is Liza Pollux. I saw what happened at dinner, and frankly...' She looked around her quickly, her brown eyes flicking around the room nervously. 'He deserved it.' She whispered with a giggle. I nodded. 

'I know. That's why I did it.' I said sarcastically, but the jumpy brunette didn't seem to catch on. 

' That was an incredible bit of magic you did. I don't even think Ravenclaw 7th years could do a wordless transfiguration. How did detention with Dumbledore go? Was it awful? I've never seen him give anyone a detention. That must have been scary. I've only ever seen him mad once. Last year, when Potter got someone to put his namer in for the Tri-Wizard tourney. Scarhead still hasn't admit to it.' She rambled on about howe much she disliked Harry and Malfoy. I kind of got the disgruntled ex girlfriend vibe when she talked of Draco. 

'Oh darn. We aren't roommates! Oh well. I'll see you tomorrow Jezzy!' She ran down the corridor to her own dorm. 

'Jezzy?' I muttered before walking into the dorm room I was assigned. There were three other girls sitting on their beds. They looked up as I opened the door. One of the girls scoffed and rolled her eyes. Her dark eyes squinted at me in disgust. 

'Of course, we get the freaky mudblood lover.' She said, her pug like face scrunched like she just smelled something unpleasant. 

'Nice to meet you too, I guess.' I said with a crooked smile. One of the other girls, a large, manly built girl with sandy brown hair and hard eyes glared at me from the bed next to the pug faced girl. The third roommate, a slender blonde girl watched me carefully. I smiled at her and she returned it, until Pug Face glared at her. 

'Denae, you aren't being friendly with her, are you?' Shrieked Pug Face. Denae didn't respond at first. 

'Oh come now, Pug Face. I'm not that bad.' I said as I pulled my night shirt and shorts from my trunk. Pug Face shrieked wordlessly before stomping out of the room, Man Girl not far behind. Denae laughed loudly when the door closed. 

'Pug Face? Brilliant! Denae Spica. For future reference, Pug Face is Pansy Parkinson. And her shadow is Millicent Bulstrode.' I shook her pale hand with a smile. 

'Good to know. Otherwise they would have been Pug Face and Man Girl forever.' I said, waving my hand nonchalantly. Denae laughed again and laid back onto her pillow, her curly blonde hair flowing behind her like a halo.
