Chapter 25 I've got my condo in hell already leased. Lakefront property, bitches!
Christmas came and went and before I knew it we were already at Valentine's Day. Fred and I had a very cute, storybook romance as far as the school was concerned. I hated it. I hated lying, but I was damn sure getting good at it.
I was sitting next to Hermoine at the Gryffindor table at breakfast when Harry and Ron arrived that morning. The mail had just come and Hermione was tugging a letter from the beak of an unfamiliar brown owl as they sat down.
"And about time! If it hadn't come today . . ."she said, eagerly tearing open the envelope and pulling out a small piece of parchment. Her eyes sped from left to right as she read through the message and a grimly pleased expression spread across her face. "Listen, Harry," she said, looking up at him, "this is really important. Do you think you could meet me in the Three Broomsticks around midday?"
"Well . . . I dunno," said Harry uncertainly. "Cho might be expecting me to spend the whole day with her. We never said what we were going to do." I turned to Harry quickly. He had a date?
"Well, bring her along if you must," said Hermione urgently. "But will you come?"
"Well . . . all right, but why?"
"I haven't got time to tell you now, I've got to answer this quickly. Jez, you better come too!" And she hurried out of the Great Hall, the letter clutched in one hand and a piece of toast in the other, not even waiting for my answer.
I looked at the confusion on Harry's face and laughed.
"Good to know I get a say in the matter. S'okay, Fred won't notice I'm gone. So you have a date with Cho? Why is this the first time I'm hearing about this?!" I said with false anger. Harry blushed darker maroon than Ron's Christmas sweater and looked at his pumpkin juice with sudden interest.
"W-well I..." he stammered, but I laughed.
"Just giving you a hard fine, darling. That's bitching. I'm happy for you." A cold voice hit my ears from behind us.
"5 points from Gryffindor. I don't want to hear that kind of language again, Potter." Snape growled as he walked past us. I winced and Harry started to protest, but Snape was gone.
My relationship with my godfather had not improved with time like I had hoped. If anything, it had gotten worse since Christmas break. Since Umbridge's most recent "Teacher's can't chat with students" rule, Snape had started giving me detentions any time Umbridge didn't have me. My right hand was scarred so deeply with "I must not show off" I was thinking of getting it tattooed.
Fred led me to Zonko's when we arrived at Hogsmeade. I sighed and forced a smile.
"Hey babe, I'm going to go for a walk, I'll meet you back here later, okay?" I said in a sweet voice that would put Umbridge to shame. Fred turned, looking disappointed.
"We can go somewhere else..." he started, but I shook my head and kissed his cheek.
"I'll be back, okay?" I turned and walked into the milling crowd before he could protest again.
I walked to the Shrieking Shack and threw myself onto the ground, ignoring the piercing cold of the snow seeping through my clothes.
"I'm going to hell." I muttered to myself.
"Wanna carpool?" said a voice behind me. I sat up and turned to see the familiar silver eyes that had been haunting me.
"Draco..." I said in a whisper. We had barely spoken since Christmas, and it was getting to me.
"Y'know, if you keep talking to yourself like that, people are going to think nargles got in your head." he said with a smirk. I laughed, remembering the night we spent in the Astronomy tower.
I stood and walked to his side. He was hidden halfway behind the shack, leaning against the dilapidated wall. Draco eyed me warily but I threw my arms around his neck and crashed my lips to his. He fell back slightly, but recovered quickly, placing his hands on my hips.
"Nice to see you, too." he whispered when we parted, resting his forehead on mine. I walked to the door of the old shack and pulled it open. Draco raised an eyebrow at me. I grabbed his hand and pulled him inside before he could protest.
"I've missed you..." I whispered. Draco didn't respond, he just pulled me to him in a tight embrace.
"Why do you always have to be surrounded by the Potty brigade, Jezzy?" he asked softly. I smiled slightly at the nickname that only he was allowed to use.
"You know I can't tell you, honey." I said, kissing his neck softly. He sighed and kissed the top of my head.
"If you weren't so scary, I'd totally blow our cover." he said with a smirk. I gasped and placed a hand on my chest.
"You think I'm scary?" I said, a sob making my words quiver.
"Yes, Jezzy. You are scary." He said with an eye roll. I made my hair and eyes go from black to bright red to white, glaring at him. He took a step back and I laughed.
"I know!" I said with a perky grin before crashing my lips to his again.

I straightened my shirt and brushed off my jeans. Draco held the door open for me and we walked into the sunlight. I sighed, knowing Fred would be looking for me. Draco kissed my lips softly and smiled at me.
"So will you be my secret valentine, Jezzy?" he asked. I laughed and nodded. He pulled a piece of paper from his pocket, folded it and handed it to me. It was a paper heart that changed colors. I grinned and tucked it into my shirt.
"I need to get back before they come looking for me. I'll see you tonight?" Draco sighed and nodded. I kissed him one more time before running back toward Zonko's. Fred, George and Lee were walking out the front door as I walked up. Fred grinned when he saw me. He pulled me to him and kissed me softly.
"Hey beautiful." he whispered in my ear. I smiled and rested my head on Fred's shoulder. My eyes wandered the crowd and locked onto a familiar silver. They were ice cold and hard as they searched mine. I sighed and snuggled closer to Fred. I really am going to hell.
