Chapter 9 We'll just push the town somewhere else!!

I watched Malfoy stomp off. I seemed to be doing a lot of that already.

"Fred, honey..." I started, but he raised a hand.

"That was uncalled for, and I apologize." He said, and I sighed. He was really into me. Way more than I reciprocated. I felt mildly sick. Brits are way more dramatic than I thought.

"Can I walk you to class, Miss Hawthorne?" Fred asked, bowing lowly to me.

"Well I do declare, Mr. Weasley, aren't you chivalrous?" I replied with a curtsy before taking his arm.

"So the first Hogsmeade trip is in a few weeks." Fred said in a failed attempt at offhandedness, which I am almost certain is not a word.

"That's good. What's a Hogsmeade and where is it going?" I asked. Fred looked at me like I was crazy.

"Hogsmeade is the town just off school grounds, love." He said with a chuckle.

"That's going to be some trip, then." I said, barely succeeding in keeping a straight face at Fred's indescribable expression.

"Hogsmeade isn't going anywhere. We go to it." He spoke slowly like he was taking to a child, and I couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped my lips.

"Thank goodness. Do you know how much work it is to move a town?" We reached the door to my next class, which was NEWT Transfiguration. Fred took my hand in his and kissed it.

"Until we meet again, m'lady." He bowed again before stepping around the corner. I chuckled and entered the half empty classroom. McGonagall looked up at me with a small smile.

"Good afternoon, Miss Hawthorne. I see you haven't managed to get yourself expelled yet." Are said sharply, but I could hear the joking beneath her tone.

"The day isn't over yet, Professor. Please tell me something, though. Draco Malfoy isn't in this class, right?" I almost pleaded.

"No, I think he is at Herbology right now. Why?" She replied, and I cheered and threw my fist in the air.

"Thank goodness. Finally get away from that boy." I said, wiping imaginary sweat from my forehead before taking a seat.

Nothing really exciting in Transfiguration. I was the first to transfigure the desk into a dog, which I named Franklin. I started sobbing uncontrollably when McGonagall said I had to turn him back into a desk. I pulled out a piece of parchment and wrote R.I.P. FRANKLIN on it and laid it on the desk before sobbing again. A few students thought I was serious. A 7th year Ravenclaw name Thomas McKinnon even transfigured a quill into a lily and laid it on the desk.

"Are you all right, love?" He asked sympathetically, and I laughed.

"Just fine, darling. You really can't take me seriously most of the time." I picked up the parchment and the flower off the desk. Lilies were my favorite. I told Thomas this and he smiled.

"This is a special lily." He said, taking it from me. He waved his hand in front of it, and it changed color. "It's a mood lily. Changes color depending on how you are feeling." He tucked the flower behind my ear, where it turned yellow. I smiled. "I'm glad I could make you happy, Jezabel." He said before walking toward the Great Hall.

Sorry it's short, and I hope at least part of that made sense. I know it seems like I am going slow, but I promise it will pick up soon. Please comment, vote and...fan? *attempts puppy dog eyes ;_;*

Btw, the first person to tell me where the chapter name came from gets a dedication on chapter 10 :-)
