"Are you done K? Let em see what you've got." My mom said.
I brought her the four catalogs that I had picked out costumes from. One was a Cicci dance catalog. "This one could be Asia and Kenzie." I said, opening the catalog to the page I bookmarked and pointing to a two piece costume with a white top and a black skirt. The white top was a crop top, stopping where a sports bra stopped. It had poofy sleeves like a Snow White dress, and a frilly collar line. The skirt was a red poodle skirt that went down to the knees. It had a white poodle on it, with matching frills at the hemline of the skirt.
"Wow, that would be perfect!" Melissa said. Kristi was nodding her head in agreement. This was fun!
"Next, Brooke and Nia. I think this one would work." I opened up the A Wish Come True dance catalog and pointed to the choice I had for them. It was a two piece costume with a black sports bra top, a red button up short sleeve shirt that tied at the bottom of the bra instead of buttoning up, and red, black, and white plaid pants.
"Wow, I like that!" Kelly said.
"Same here!" Holly encouraged.
I paused for a second. "Well, keep going!" My mom said.
I opened up the next catalog, a mix Abby had made of online dance wear stores and accessories. I pointed out individual pieces I had chosen to make a combo outfit. "For Chloe and Paige, they would wear these black stirrup leggings from Purple Pixies. Then," I flipped some pages,"They would put this red dance skirt, just like our on the verge skirt, over the leggings." I flipped to the last page. "For their top, they would use this lace AngelFace Designs top, just a tank that's lace to the bottom." It was a white halter top sports bra top with white lace coming down to the waist.
"Finally, Paige isn't wearing pants!" Kelly said.
"Plus, I think Chloe and Paige already have those shirts!" Christi said.
I giggled. "I know, that's why I picked them. And technically Paige is still wearing pants. Abby does that because her skinny legs are so long, they look a little awkward. That's why I always have high waisted shorts. My hips are wide."
"Wow, you know a lot about costuming!" Kelly commented.
I gleamed. "Thanks. It's just what I've picked up from Abby."
"What about you and Mads?" Melissa asked.
I smiled and opened up the last catalog, Kelle Dance. "This is for Maddie and I." I said, pointing to ours. It was personally my favorite. We had red high waisted pants that had two rows of three buttons on the front. The top was a black bra top, which I knew our moms could add bedazzled to.
"Oh, and wait! There's more!" I said. I opened up the dance wear and accessories catalog and pointed out a big red headpiece. It was similar to Asia's Rosie the Riveter headband, but it was just plain red. It was a fabric strip with wire inside of it around the edges. It also had a hole in the middle of it. "These are our accessories. It can be used in a ton of different ways. Kenz and Asia can use it to make a sock bun and then a little piece of the red sticks out and makes a bow. And Brooke and Nia can make ponytails and wrap this is a bow around it. Then Chloe and Paige can do French twists and this makes a bow around it, then Mads and I can make a donut bun and wrap this around it and make a bow."
The moms stared back at me.
"Wow Kendall, you really thought this out." My mom said.
"Kendall! It's you're turn!" I hear Maddie call up the stairwell. She must've just finished. I walked downstairs to start my solo, not sure what to expect
