We got out of the cab and walked in to the theatre, taking our seats and preparing for the show to start. Annie has always been one of my favorite shows, and I was super excited to see it.
As we sat down, our five seats were in a row as usual. But this time, unlike normal times when we saw shows with the Zieglers or went to the movies, we sat in different spots. Normally, there was a mom on each end. I sat next to my mom and Maddie, and Kenzie was between Melissa and Maddie. But this time, intentionally or not, Kenzie switched with Maddie. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but it was kind of weird.
The show started and ended, and we headed out of the theatre. We hailed a cab, and started to head to Times Square to catch dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Of course, as soon as we got into the cab, everyone took out their phones. I had three new texts.
Sophia- "Hey Kendall K! That's so awesome! I'm excited and happy for you :) When I do a photo shoot, I just try to look like I'm having as much fun as possible, which isn't hard, photoshoots are ALWAYS fun!!! Good luck!"
Paige- "Hey K! Let us know how your audition turns out!"
Nia- "My mom and I are excited to hear the results of your audition! Let us know!! :)"
I responded to all of the girls, thanking them for being there for me. Halfway through my reply to Sophia, my mom gasped loudly. And I mean, really loudly. Loud enough so that I dropped my phone, Kenzie practically jumped out of her seat, and Maddie started freaking out. "What's wrong Jill?" She asked my mom urgently.
"Kendall, look!" She replied. She handed me her phone, and there was a new text from Toni.
Toni- "Tonight will work, we can do some tomorrow as well if that's okay with you. Excited to work with you all again!"
I stared and scrolled, looking for more, but it was the only text from Toni. "What does this mean? I mean, I get that Toni's excited but..."
Mom took the phone and laughed. "No, silly! This!"
She handed me the phone again, and it was pulled up to a new text.
A text from Franke.
Franke- "Hello Jill! Call me as soon as you can. I have very exciting news for Kendall and you!"
