The rest of the day, we walked around the city, doing typical NYC things. You know, pictures in Times Square, shopping, we even did a little looking around for places to live while we stayed up there. Maddie and I started talking about all the other auditions she was going to. I knew she was still upset, so I tried to cheer her up by talking about them. She loved talking about upcoming auditions for some reason, and always had.

Finally, it was time to show up to an audition that day. Franke surprised us, and met us there.

"Hello Ladies! Okay, so I know this is quick notice, but I understand your moms packed your things so we could surprise you. Today, I'm having you all audition for a role of some dancers in a commercial!" Franke explained.

We all gaped at the news. "Commercial for what?" Kenzie asked.

"It's a commerical for...." Franke looked down at a paper he was holding. "Hmm. It's called... Justice?" He said. We all gasped and he laughed, knowing we would know exactly what store Justice was. Excitedly, our moms gave us our bags and we ran in to the bathroom to get ready before auditions started. I grabbed the biggest bathroom stall, and opened my bag. Luckily, my mom had packed me a leotard, so I would look professional, but it was blue. I would stand out just enough. I also had my knee pads, spandex for over the leotard, jazz shoes, and foot paws. I threw on the black spandex and jazz shoes, and kept my hair up in my french braid curly ponytail.

I walked out of the stall, and Maddie was redoing Kenzie's hair into a typical donut bun, just like hers. Maddie was wearing a formal black leotard with a mesh back, the Purple Pixies one. She had on tights and ballet slippers. I didn't think it was going to be a ballet audition, but she definitely looked professional. Kenzie, on the other hand, was wearing a pink crop top and black booty shorts, and had on foot paws. At least I wasn't alone.

We walked out in the lobby of the building, and started stretching. Girls started showing up by the hundreds, and we lined up first to get our numbers.

The audition went by extremely fast, and we didn't have too much to do. There were 6 different 'screening' rooms, each with 3 judges in them. You walked into the screening room, and they played you music, about a minute long. You got to listen to it. Then, they watched you improv to the music once. Finally, after about 10 people finished 'screening', they took you into a large room with 3 different judges, taught a routine, and you had to perform it. The song they had you dance to was "Roar" by Katy Perry. This was an easy song to improv to, considering I did it at home all the time. Maddie did end up switching into jazz shoes, along with Kenzie, and we all told Franke thank you at the end and went back to the Hotel.

We knew we wouldn't be getting phone calls at all unless we got into the commercial, so we didn't pay much attention to the phones. Instead, we had a girls night. Maddie seemed a lot happier tonight, and she came and watched TV with Kenzie and I in my room, as we painted each other nails and had a lot of fun.

Then, at precisely 10:36, the phone rang.
