🍸🍹🍷🍺
Today was the last day of term. Campus was buzzing as all the clubs would be open all night, and every student had been dismissed from classes.
I sat on the hood of Darcy's car, waiting for her to return.
She had gone into block 35, where our friend Ameera's dorm was. We were all going to the best club on campus: Puerto Rico. After about five minutes, the two girls returned and we got in the car.
I was always the Dj when driving, so after hitting shuffle about twelve times, I settled on Jumpman, Drake. Tonight was going to be good."Want some, Noah?" Ameera held forth a bottle of JD. "Just to get the party going easy."
I hesitated. My parents had warned me not to drink too much. Anything could happen. And tonight I wouldn't be returning to my dorm with my friend, a couple of blocks down. I'd be on my own, traveling by train to Milton Keynes to spend
the holidays with my family."Um.. Naah. I'll grab a drink when we get there."
"Suit yourself. Darcy?"
Darcy reached back, grabbed the bottle and took a good long swig of it.I started to panic. I expected her to say no, as she was the one driving. But hey, if she could, why couldn't I?
"You know what, I'll take it."
"Wooo!" Darcy cheered.
"Atta girl!" Ameera yelled, passing me the bottle.I stared at the bottle in my hand for a brief moment.
'Just be careful. Don't do anything stupid.' I warned myself with the advice my parents had given me on the phone. And with that, I tipped my head back and took three long gulps."Wooooo!" Both girls cheered again.
Another car sped by us, music pouring from the rolled down windows.
Oliver Fenton, my coursework partner, stood up through the window, pouring a bottle of something into himself.
"HEEEY!" He called waving.
I rolled my window down.
"PUERTO RICO?" He asked.
"Hell yeah!"
"SWEET, I'LL SEE YOU THERE!"
Hayden Vern, the boys' driver for the night, sped off."Race them?" Darcy asked, a mischevious grin plastered across her face.
"Go for it." I smiled back.
I knew it was dangerous. She was already tipsy, and speeding was a huge risk. Even if we didn't crash, she'd get done for drink driving if we were caught. But for some reason, I couldn't bring myself to say no.
She slammed her foot on the pedal and we went shooting off after the boys.As soon as we arrived at the club, Ameera went chasing another drink, while Darcy and I hung tight, waiting for the rest of our mates to get there.
Funnily, Jumpman was playing in the club.Oliver came up behind me and nudged me.
"WHASSUP BABE!"
"Nothing, just waiting for the others." I smiled.
"LET ME GET YOU SOMETHING!"
"No really, I'm fine for now-"
"NO, NO. YOU'VE BEEN WORKING SO HARD. YOU NEED A DRINK. COME OOON. IT'S ON ME. LET'S GO."
I looked back at Darcy for some sort of backup, but she simply nodded and shooed me off.
Oliver dragged me over to the bar with him, and we sat down."What can I get you two?" The bartender asked.
Olly looked over at me.
"Um.. I'll just have an orange juice with a bit of-"
"NOPE!"The bartender laughed and smiled confusedly.
"COME ON! THAT'S THE MOST BORING SHIT YOU COULD POSSIBLE HAVE!"
"Okay then, what are you getting?"
"I'LL HAVE A WHITE RUSSIAN WITH A COUPLE EXTRA SHOTS OF TEQUILA PLEASE." He yelled.
"Alright. Careful, before you hurt yourself." She said sarcastically, gliding over to the pumps.
"And what about you, sweetheart?" She asked.
Olly grinned at me.
"Fine," I hit his shoulder lightly. "I'll have the same as him please."
"Yeah?"
I nodded.
"Alright then. I'll have those over right away."
"THANKS!"
"Thankyou."
