⚓NOAH OQUAYE⚓
As soon as I checked my phone that night, there were over a dozen messages from each of my friends asking about Liam. Then, when school reopened they continued to pester me all day for details on the last night of term. I tried to explain to them that Liam and I just chilled out together, but they all assumed I was hiding something.
Friends eh?"Like, netflix and chill?" Darcy asked impatiently.
"No. Just chill. Like, on the sofa with snacks chill."
"Why do you have to be so boring?" Kala asked
"I'm just telling you guys the truth! Unless you want me to make up some juicy story about how we fucked all night.. which we didn't."
"Ooh the truth is slipping out.'" Darcy cooed.
"For fuck sake, Darcy.""Ladies! At the back," our teacher for design tec had finally had enough of our nattering. "I suppose you wouldn't mind answering the question. Seeing as you each have a lot to say, and you were paying such close attention."
"Um.."
I quickly scanned the scene on the board.
"Well, to increase the durability of the garment, and maximise sales at the same time, you'd need to merge popular designs with strong fabrics that are cooperative with the design on both pieces."
"No need to be a smartass, Noah." Our teacher rolled his eyes, the corners of his lips turning up.
"Well. I have to stay your favourite student, don't I?" I pretended to be seriously concerned.
He winked and turned back to the board.
"As I was saying...""Nice one.." Hayden turned from his seat in front of me and smiled.
We all laughed.
"Hey, where's Olly?"
I hadn't notice up until now that Oliver wasn't sat at the front of the room in his usual place.
"Sick at home. He claims he's dying over there. His brother had to come get him from mine on Wednesday."
"Oh, what happened to him?" Darcy asked.
"What do you think?" He made a face.
"Drunk?"
"Drunk.""Hayden. You want to join the mothers meeting?" Our teacher asked.
The room was filled with laughter.
"No."
"Then I suggest you turn back around and focus on the lesson, ladies man."
Hayden rolled his eyes and turned around.
"Love you." I whispered.
"Hate you too."After class, I got a text from a +44.
Darcy, Kala, Ameera, San (another friend) and I were up in me and Darcy's dorm, 'revising', aka snacking and watching YouTube with open text books in the background."Let me guess... Mr Law school?"
Ameera said, pouring popcorn into her big mouth.
"Oh shut up. And your Mr Law school has a name."
"Yeah, well we'd know that, if you'd just tell us."I smirked.
"Oh come on." Kala begged
I shook my head and looked away.
I knew exactly how to piss off my friends.Darcy leaped forward from the pile of cushions on the floor she was sat on, snatched my phone, and ran out of our bedroom.
"Hey!"
And I guess they knew exactly how to piss me off too.All of the girls sprang up and followed Darcy out of the room and down the stairs.
Just as I reached Darcy, she threw the phone over to San, who caught it perfectly and carried on sprinting down the hall in the opposite direction.
Cons of being friends with sport freaks."Miss you too?" Darcy yelled, still running.
"What?" I said, confused.
"He misses you too!" San yelled after reading the message, tossing the phone over to Ameera."Want to meet again? Ooh. You naughty girl." Ameera called.
We were about half a block down from our dorm and I was officially exhausted.
The girls had led me all over our block while giving me over a dozen mini heart attacks by tossing my precious phone left and right.
