The last four days of the year were great. There was a party on every block, and we had open house because our dorms were changing next year. That meant we had to take out all our belongings (unless we planned on returning during the holidays) and most of the dorms were left unlocked for wondering.

I invited Brandon and Julia round, but Blake couldn't come - something about him feeling ill.

As usual, the Birkbeck boys had been shut off so they all came over to ours- except this time, they were welcome.

We hung around in Olly and Hayden's dorm with a bunch of their friends, then we wondered round and went to some other parties on our block, before heading down to the clubs.

I couldn't help but feel as though Darcy, Olly, Hayden and I were drifting apart form San, Kala and Ameera. With all the new friends, it was difficult for us to keep up with each other. It also didn't help that they didn't know the big secret.

They'd met Brandon and his friends as well as Liam and his friends once or twice, but seeing as those were the groups we hung around lately and they weren't too familiar with each other, drifting apart was almost destined.

They were still included in most of out group activities like eating out and parties, but everything ended up feeling slightly forced, so we didn't spend the night out on campus with them.

It was just --

Liam, Chase, Brandon, Alex, Julia, Darcy, Riley, Hayden, Oliver, me,

And Nigel.

I thought it'd be good for him to get out.
Mum and Dad were still tip toeing around each other, but everything was so far so good. Dad had a long chat with Nigel's mum, and she said as long as Nigel wanted to, they could see each other. Nigel went home, but I invited him back to my uni on Friday.

To my luck, he got along with all my friends.

Well.. most of them.

There's always one...

...And it's always Hayden.

I think Hayden's sister and Nigel dated, but it didn't end well.

Either way, all that mattered was tonight.

I had all my favourite people around me, I'd overcome the last couple of months and summer was finally here!!

I had nothing to worry about.

See how long that lasts..

"Fuck!" Hayden froze.

We were currently walking around the outer end of campus in our large group, looking for where to go next.
It was eight. Friday evening.

"What is it?"
"Look."

We looked ahead to see what had caused Hayden to stop and swear.

It was our club-

Puerto Rico.

And it was shutting down!!

"No!"
"They're closing down?!"

We walked up to the entrance. The door was covered in fliers and posters.

'Puerto Rico Nightclub, closing down due to relocation and recreation.'

"So what's this place gonna be now?"
"Who cares?! It's still open!" I rushed inside the open glass doors. The place was packed- more than usual.

"Hey, what's going on?" I asked Opal, my favourite bartender.
"We're having a closing party. Surprised you didn't know about it." She smiled.
"I know! So, what's the deal?"
"Half off all drinks, food is free."
"I'm in!"
"Knew you would be," she wiped down a table with the cloth she was holding before making her way back to the bar. "What can I get you then, sweetheart?"
