When we reached the bar, I took a few shots but tried not to go all out.
With Olly absent, it would be much easier to resist getting drunk.
Hayden had a couple of shots too, asked if I'd be alright alone with Liam and Chase, then went home. He had football training early on Sunday and said although he really wanted to stay, he couldn't.
By this time, I'd loosened up a little and felt way more at ease.

"Another drink?" Chase asked, a mischievous grin on his face.
"No. I really shouldn't."
"Fair enough."
I turned to Liam who was stood next to me.
"Liam..."
"Yes?"
"You know that message you sent me?"
His eyes widened and he looked nervous. "Uh.. I can explain that."
"Don't worry about it-"
"No seriously. I shouldn't have said that, and I didn't."
"You didn't?"
He nodded over at Chase, who was disappearing in the crowd, chatting to a group of girls.
"No way!" I laughed.
"All him."
"So all the messages were from him?"
I tried to hide the disappointment in my voice.
"No. I sent everything but the last one."
"Oh." I said, forcing myself not to smile.

"We still have a lot to catch up on." He said, running a hand through his dark hair.

Why do I find that so hot?

"You're right. Look, I'm sorry about bringing Hayden, I was just super nervous."
"Don't mention it. I'm even more sorry about that thing over there."
We both looked over to the dance floor to see a heavily drunk Chase flinging himself between girls.

"And about that, whatever it takes.."
I flashed a playful smile.
"Oh," he looked away. "Got a little too confident that's all."
"Well, if you buy me another drink, I'll pretend I don't want to go home with you."

♜LIAM LAWRENCE♜

I tensed up. Noah wanted to go home with me?
We didn't really get the chance to talk thanks to our friends, so I guess it would be cool if she came round.
But that message.
To be honest, I felt bad about that. Chase had kicked the pace of our relationship up with that stupid text, and we weren't even dating.
But she wasn't drunk this time so if she wanted to do anything, it would be her choice.
But did I want to? I didn't know. And I suppose an I don't know is closer to no than yes.
But I really didn't want to lose her again.
Stop being stupid, I told myself.
"Sure, what do you want?"

🙊🙊🙊

It was 11pm. Chase had gone home, at fucking last, and Noah was sat next to me in the car.
I was really nervous.
I didn't want to look like an idiot who didn't know what he was doing, but at the same time, I didn't want to come on too strong or get ahead of myself.

I'll admit, I was hopelessly in love with Noah.
Was I going to tell her? No.

I sparked the car and began to route home.

"You feeling okay?" She asked.
"Um, yeah. Why?" I looked over at her and smiled.
"I just feel like I've scared you a little."
"Scared me?"
"You've gone quiet."
"Oh. Just had a lot to think about lately."
"Well now, you're out. Have some fun! Or at least," she looked at me. "Try to."
"That's not gonna be hard with you around is it? Miss life of the party."
She laughed.
A traffic light stopped us.
"Life of the party, sure.."
"No, honestly. Sometimes I feel like -"
"Like I'm too much fun for you?"
"Well.."
"What, you'd rather hang out with a Birkbeck girl?"

She lifted herself up effortlessly and sat on my lap like she'd done it a million times before.
My heart began to beat so hard I was scared she could hear it.
She leaned in close till her face was right in front of mine and put her hands on my chest.
