I could see the panic marking itself on Darcy's face.
"Go on.. how did you know?.." I got up off the bed and approached her.
"Um... I just meant.."
"And how did my phone end up back here?"
"I... I don't know."
"Yes you do." I picked my phone off the bed and unlocked it.There it was. A conversation between Liam and I. A conversation I never had.
"Um."
"You've been setting me up this whole time. Talking to Liam as me, plotting my trip to Hayden's,"
She remained still and silent. A picture of guilt painted all over her face.
"Fucking hell, Darcy. Why can't you just leave my life to me?" I stormed out of the room in anger, making sure my phone was with me this time.📱📱📱
Throughout third lesson, I couldn't take my mind off the fact that my bestfriend was a flipping con artist.
I get it, she was trying to help me, but this was what I call taking it too far.
The odd message, yeah I could live with that, but I was so done with her now.
It was like she was planning out my entire life for me. She might as well go kiss Liam herself and all.To be honest, I felt sorry for Liam. He thought he was texting me when it was really my snake of a bestfriend texting him, meanwhile I was out, kissing Hayden.
For fuck sake. I couldn't cope with all of this. I'd have to tell Liam the truth about the messages. I felt complete disappointment when I though his friend had been texting me the whole time, so I could already see him being super unhappy about this.
Someone approached my desk.
It was Hayden.
He dropped something warm, wrapped in foil on my table."What's this?" I asked, looking up.
"Cake. You didn't get any yesterday, so I thought I'd bring you a slice."
"Oh. Thanks." I forced a smile.
"Um.. about yesterday.."
"Yeah, you know what, let's not talk about that right now."
He looked at me uneasily. "Oh. Okay."I know that was cold of me but I had too much to deal with right then.
I'd be so much better off with no friends, no one. Alone.
Hayden shuffled off to his desk, the clicking of his crutches only put me in a shittier mood because I knew if it weren't for me, he wouldn't be using them at all.
I'd ignored Darcy all day, and I'd made plans to go sleep at San's dorm tonight. Darcy had sent me multiple "I'm sorry, please talk to me, I can explain..." messages, but who needs to text back when you have a friend who'll do it for you.
I really needed to talk to Liam but I wasn't in the mood today.
Everything was going back to the way it was before when I was with Gabe.
Complete and total shit.I had a new plan for tonight.
I was going out. On my own.😶😶😶
The night air was cool against my face. The wind sent my braids flying everywhere and my dress fluttered.
I'd just stepped out of the taxi, and had drifted off campus to a night club I hadn't heard of before - King.
I knew for sure none of my so called friends would find me there.
Turning off my phone and sliding it in my bag, I walked slowly toward the double doors. A knot tied in my stomach.
I'd obviously been out on my own before, but for some reason, I felt really scared.
I didn't know anyone here. But that was the best part.A guy was stood at the entrance, leaning against the wall, smoking.
"Hey."
"Um.. Hi."
"No need to be scared, princess. You're too beautiful to be out here alone." He moved off the wall and stood in front of me.
"Er.."
"What's your name?"
"Noah."
"Noah? Like, Noah's Ark Noah?"
"Um. Yeah."
"Unique." He smirked. "I'm Brandon."
I nodded nervously. "Cool."
"Do you wanna go inside?"
"Yeah sure..."
"Long way from home?" He asked as we entered the club.
"Yeah, sort of. I'm currently at uni, so I'm a long way from home anyway."
"Oh, that's cool. What are you studying?"
"Fashion Design and Art."
"Wow. Creative then?"
"I'd like to think so." I smiled.
