⚓NOAH OQUAYE⚓
Two days later, I snuck back home. I was hoping no one was there because I didn't need any more complications, and to my luck, the place was empty.
I went straight to my parents' room. The place was almost lifeless and I could tell no one had slept there for days.
My mums perfume had captured their entire bedroom. That reminded me- I still hadn't given them their gifts. The two of them didn't deserve gifts, but Alex and Leanna did. I'd take them from my room and drop them in their rooms before I left.
For now, I was on a mission. I had to find this Nigel's number. My dad was sure to have it.. somewhere.
His wardrobe shelf was packed with notes and files. I fumbled about in his things for almost an hour and found nothing. Old birthday cards and photos. Receipts and letters.
I was just about to give up when I saw it. A photo of a little mixed race boy. He was sat on a red chair and had a birthday hat on with a cake in front of him.I looked on the back of it.
Perfect.
A phone number.
07865 992760 - Ciara.
That was probably the little shit's mum.
I pulled out my phone, took a deep breath and dialled the number.
**
"Hello?"
I lost my ability to speak.
"Hello?"
The person cut the phone.
I collapsed onto my parents bed in an emotional mess.
Their duvet smelt of both of them, but Dad's cushion always smelt of Mum because she always stole when he was working night shifts.
I cried. I cried because what if Dad was still seeing that woman in the background? Whether it was for an innocent chat about their son or not, it was still a secret that Dad had kept from us. From Mum.
The person called my phone back, but I couldn't answer.
Instead, I dropped my siblings' gifts in each of their rooms, signing each box with love Noah x, and left the house.

"Hello? Is this the number that called earlier?"
"Yeah. It is. Um, my name is Noah, I'm Nigel's.. friend. I was wondering if he's around?"
"Yeah, he's here. Why didn't you just call his mobile?"
"Wasn't picking up. Sorry."
"No problem. He's just here, I'll put him on the phone for you."
"Thanks."Darcy, Hayden, Olly and Liam were all gathered in mine and Darcy's dorm. I'd told the others the news. They were just as shocked as I was.
"Hello?"
My heart skipped a beat.
"Hi, Nigel."
"Hi, who is this?"
"You don't know me. And I don't really know you. But.. your dad.."
"My dad?"
"Nigel, I don't know what you've been told, but.. I'm your half sister."
