Chapter 39

(Link's Point Of View):

I screamed as I was thrown down into their jail cell.

"I'm gonna have a bruise now! That really hurt!" I said.

"Stupid kid." One of the guards said. "Get in there and keep quiet!" The guards walked away from the ceiling opening.

"How do I get out of here?"

"Link! Are you alright?!"

"Yes, I am, but Navi, where are the others?!!"

"They're being held captive by the Gerudo guards. I don't know what they plan to do to them, but we'd better hurry!"

I looked around and got an idea. "That wood there next to that opening! I'm gonna use my longshot and swing out of here."

"Good idea." I attached my longshot and jumped out of the cell.

"Alright Navi! Lead the way!"

We snuck into the fortress to find the others and entered into a room.

"Hey! Hey! Over here!" A voice whispered. I looked over to where the sound was coming from and my eyes landed upon a man who was trapped in a jail cell. "Hey! I have no idea where you come from, but you must have a lot of guts to make it past all the guards around here! Listen! All of my fellow carpenters are imprisoned somewhere in here. If you can get us out of here, we'll repay the favor somehow."

"Whether they do or not, we need to help them."

"We will! In any way we can, I promise! But be careful! There's sure to be Gerudo guards somewhere around... here..." There was a pause. "Whoo! Watch out!" He screamed out.

I looked from the corner of my eye and saw one of the guards. I ran away from the cell gate as a sword came flying at me. I quickly dodged the guard's attacks and held off one of her swords with my own. I dodged another attack. As she was about to swing her sword at me, I went behind her came and knocked her out.

"Nice job!" Navi said.

"Thanks!" I found the keys to the cell on the guard's person and unlocked the cell.

"Thank you! Thank you so much! I'm Ichiro the carpenter. We were really interested in joining their all-female group, but they locked us up like this just because we're men! We don't care about the Gerudo anymore! They're so rude! Three of my fellows have also been captured, so please help them escape too!"

"Of course! Follow us! We'll keep you protected." I said.

"Really? Are you sure? I don't wanna be a burden to you."

"I insist!"

"Thank you! Thank you so much! I'll help in any way I can!"

"So Ichiro. You said they locked you up just because you're a man?!" I said.

"Yeah. They must be feminists or something who have a strong dislike for men."

"I bet you that's why they separated me from them!"

"You're right Link!" Navi said. "But then what are they going to do to them since they're girls?"

"I don't know, but I'd rather not find out!" I replied.

We snuck inside a few more brick rooms and found another cell.

"Hey! Over here!" The man in the cell said.

"Oh my gosh! You're alright! Thank goodness!" Ichiro said.

"Watch out! Behind you!"

Another guard battled with me until I knocked her out. I unlocked the door.

"Thank you so much! I'm Jiro! Those women are so scary! I'd rather work as a carpenter than join them! I can't wait to say good-bye to this place!"

"Well, you can say good-bye along with us! Come with us!" Ichiro said.

We snuck into a few more rooms and found the third carpenter named, Sabooro. As soon as I went into the room, I knocked out the guard by his cell and unlocked the door.

We continued on our way until finding the last carpenter. Another female guard suddenly appeared. I fought off a few of her attacks, however, she cut my cheek with her sword. I continued to fight her off, regardless of the pain on my cheek and knocked her out. I unlocked the door to the cell.

"Sabooro! Ichiro! Jiro!" They had a group hug and they all four looked over at Navi and me. "Thank you! Thank you so much! I'm Shiro! Hey! That reminds me! I overheard something interesting about the desert the Gerudos were talking about. Get this! They said that in order to cross the Haunted Wasteland, you'll need something called the Eye of Truth?"

"Hey! I have that!" I pulled out the Lens of Truth.

"Whoa!" They were filled with amazement. "You'd better keep that hidden if you don't want it stolen. That was our mistake when we came here. They stole our stuff so watch out." Jiro said.

"The Colossus is on the far side of the wasteland." Shiro said.

"Ugh... My head..." A female voice quietly said. I turned around to see the female guard was awake. I pulled out my sword.
