Chapter 41

(Link's Point Of View):

After they played, we stood in silence. After I took a step forward towards Sheik, she took steps back before she disappeared into the sand storm.

"Navi and I will go to the Temple of Time and go to the past. Just wait here until we get back. Alright?"

"Ok, but be careful." Peach said.

"I will. Let's go Navi!"

"Coming Link!"

I play the tune to get to the Temple of Time and put back the sword in the pedestal.

"I still think this is pretty weird Navi."

"I know. You won't have to deal with this weirdness for much longer. I know I would feel the same, going back and forth between being a kid and an adult." I started to giggle. "Ready?"

"Yeah. Let's go!" I played the tune Sheik taught me and we entered into the Spirit Temple together.

"Hey Link! Do you think that's her over there?" I looked over to where Navi started flying to and saw a girl peeking through a hole in the wall. I walked over to her. When I walked over to her, she turned around.

"Hey! I haven't seen you around, kid. What do you want?"

"Oh. Not much. I'm just looking around."

"So you have nothing to do? What good timing! Can you do me a favor, kid? Wait a second, I want to ask you first. You wouldn't happen to be one of Ganondorf's followers, would you?"

"Noooo way!!!!"

"Uh huh! You've got guts. I think I like you. First of all, let me introduce myself. I'm Nabooru of the Gerudo. I'm a lone wolf thief. But don't get me wrong! Though we're both thieves, I'm completely different from Ganondorf. With his followers, he stole from women and children, and he even killed people! A kid like you may not know this, but the Gerudo race consists only of women. Only one man is born every hundred years. Even though our laws say that lone male Gerudo must become King of the Gerudo, I'll never bow to such an evil man! By the way, what is your name, kid?"

"My name is Link and this is my fairy, Navi."

"Link? What kind of name is that? Well, anyway, I wanna ask you a favor. Will you go through this tiny hole and get a treasure that's inside? The treasure is the Silver Gauntlets. If you equip them, you can easily push and pull very heavy things! Isn't that neat?!!" I became very excited. "No no no kid! Don't EVEN think about taking this treasure for yourself! The Silver Gauntlets won't fit a little kid like you if you try to equip them! I want you to be a good boy and give them to me! Ganondorf and his minions are using the Spirit Temple as a hideout. Only the Silver Gauntlets will allow me to sneak deep into the temple. Once there, I'm going to steal all the treasure inside and mess up their plans! How about it? Will you do it?"

"Of course! Leave it to me!" I gave her a big smile.

"Thanks kid! You and I, let's give Ganondorf and his followers a big surprise, shall we? If you can successfully get the Silver Gauntlets... I'll do something great for you!"

"Awesome! Thanks! Well, wish me luck!" I gave her a thumbs up and crawled my way into the tiny hole.

Navi and I went from room to room, destroying enemies such as Stalfos, Anubis, and a new enemy, the Iron Knuckle. I found the key to a certain room and, once I unlocked the door, I went in. The room was dimly lit with fire. There were brick pillars and a pathway that led to a door with bars on it. In front of the door was an armored soldier on top of some red carpet. I went closer to investigate.

All of a sudden, the armored soldier came alive.

"Watch out! It's an Iron Knuckle. Strike when it drops its guard!" Navi yelled out. It swung its gigantic axe towards me. When it was getting its axe off the ground, I hit where there was no metal with my sword. It hit me with its axe and I flew across the room.

"Link! Link! Are you alright?!!!" Navi flew over to me. I slowly got up.

"I'm alright Navi..." I brushed some dirt off of my chin.

"Cast Nayru's Love upon yourself! It'll protect you from his attacks!" I then did as Navi said and casted Nayru's Love. Blue light surrounded around me as if it was a shield. The Iron Knuckle took another swing at me as I dodged it. This continued on for five minutes. I took another swing with my sword and it screamed as I hit. It knelt to its knees and fell onto the floor. The blue light faded away and the bars to the door were lifted. From there, I went into the next room.

I saw that it led to outside and looked to see that it was sunset.

"Hey! What's up Link? Surprised to see me?" I looked up and saw that it was the owl!

"Hey! I haven't seen you in a while." I replied.

"A long time in this world is almost nothing to you, is it? How mysterious! Even I thought that the tales of a boy who could travel back and forth through time was merely a legend."

"How did you...?"

"Link, you have fully matured as an adult. From now on, the future of all the people of Hyrule is on your shoulders. Maybe it's not my time anymore. Here is my last advice. Two witches inhabit this temple. In order to destroy them, turn their own magic power against them. Hoo hoot!"

"Thank you owl."

"Is that what you've been calling me the whole time? Just an owl?"

"Wait! You have a name?! I'm so sorry!"

"Hoo hoo hoot! No need to be apologizing. Hoo hoo hoot! My name is Kaepora Gaebora."

"That's kind of a cool name!" I replied.

"I also go by a different alias as well." Kaepora Gaebora said. "Do you remember me, Link?"

"Huh?"

"I am not an actual owl. This is not my true form. My true form is that of an old man."

"Old man?!"

"The only time you saw me in this form was when you and your friends woke from your seven year sleep."

I thought for a second of where we were when we woke up. I remember being in the Chamber of Sages, and then I remembered.

"WAIT! You're...... you're him??!!" The owl nodded. "So you knew who we were even before I entered the Temple of Time!!!!!"

"And I will continue to watch over you all. Hoo hoo hoo hoot!" He started to fly away. "Don't let me down!!" He disappeared into the sunset.

I turned around to see there was chest behind me.

"They must be in here Navi!" I opened the chest to see that the Silver Gauntlets were in the chest. "Awesome! Now we can give them to-"

I suddenly heard a loud pitch scream.

"Hey! Where are you taking me??!!" I looked around, wondering where the voice as coming from. "Yeearggh! Let me go!!" I heard that the voice was coming from below me. I looked down to see what looked like two witches were surrounding Nabooru!! "You, you fiends! Ganondorf's minions!!" I saw that Nabooru was getting sucked into what looked like a vortex in the ground!! "Link!!!!! Get outta here!!! Now!!!!" I looked around. "These witches!!!! They're using black magic on me!!!" Nabooru disappeared with the vortex along with her. The witches flew  into the entrance of the temple.
