I watched amusedly as my sister powdered her already perfectly beautiful face for the sixteenth time as she slowly walked with me towards the large glass doors of Mika High School.

"I can't believe you wore those to school." She giggled, glancing up at me as she finally shoved the makeup into her bag. Clearly she disapproved of my overalls.

I stuck my tongue out at her, "And I can't believe you're not at school with an attitude like that. Let's get this over with." I sighed, taking her hand and forcefully dragging her into the place she was begging me to let her check out not even fifteen minutes earlier.

"Doctors orders, butthead," she too stuck her pink tongue out at me as we began a game of Who Can Be The Most Immature.

My eyes crossed as I walked backwards in front of her in the empty hallway, "Doctors orders were to stay inactive, stupid."

She did that thing with her eyes where one was crossed and the other was perfectly straight, switching between eyeballs as I laughed. "If I'm with you I'm pretty sure exercise isn't on the list of things to do today. The most exercise you get is when you trip on flat surfaces, you big oaf." She retorted, with the perfect Mean Girls flip of her curly unruly hair.

"Oaf. I think I'll use that." A new voice interrupted our squabble just as my back suddenly crashed into -yet again- a hard wall of steel as I blindly -and now I realized stupidly- turned the corner.

Of course, to prove my sisters and the jerks point, my legs wobbled from the slight collision and I started to fall over my own foot.

"Princess," large hands wrapped around my arms as Ashton pulled me back up so that his lips were grazing my ear. "You need to trade in that extra left foot before you hurt someone, little creep." His voice was low and husky, sending shivers running down my spine.

My cheeks grew warm as his cool breath blew down my exposed neck, rolling down my skin like a feather tickling my skin. My eyes caught sight of my sister hiding behind the corner, immediately forgetting my own embarrassment as her green eyes were wide and her mouth gaped open like a fish waiting for food. Giggles slipped out of my mouth as Ashton released me.

I walked over to the thirteen year old, taking her hand and smiling encouragingly, "Close your mouth, Rora -it's rude to stare so blatantly. This is-"

"Ashton Ryder." She squeaked out. Her vibrant green eyes flickering between us two as she took a step towards him. "You're friends with my dork of a sister?"

Ashton instantly laughed, his eyes for once bright with joy. But it was short lived as he smirked arrogantly. "Friends...Hm." He pretended to think, "that's probably pushing it."

"You think?" I muttered, glaring at the evil bâstard.

My sister frowned unsure of what to think, her face still flushed as she watched the attractive boy glare back at me. His dark eyes were mischievous and I knew even if what he was about to say back seemed like a joke to him, my sister would take it as anything but. I knew how stressed out she got when people said mean things about me and it wasn't good for her already poor health. If she thought people were saying things like what dad always said, she would never stop worrying about me. Even though she liked to tease me, she loved me and it killed her to see her older sister be treated as such. Aurora was a really sweet girl with a big heart. I hated that it was used against her own health.
