Chapter 29

Yvonne

"Yvonne gising na." I squinted my eyes open and I saw Carlisle staring at me. "Yvonne, nahimatay ka habang naglalakad tayo. Dinala na lang kita sa bahay ko."

"Why didn't you bring me to my house?"

"Cause your husband will kill me. Duh? Ano na lang ang sasabihin ng asawa mo? He'll beat the hell out of me, girl. Kilala mo naman yang asawa mo diba?" He rolled his eyes and tsked.

"Marunong ka palang magboxing." I sarcastically asked. "Why are you doing this to us?" The first sentence really sounded so masculine at fake pagdating sa 'girl' part. "You're straight."

"Girl, ano ba yang sinasabi mo? Sa ganda kong ito?" he chuckled and I stared at his eyes.

"Carl, stop faking it. Alam ko naman na hindi ka bakla."

"Well, you got me, alright? Hindi nga ako bakla." He sighed and stood up. "It's really not a big deal."

"You've seen Christine naked dahil sa Sleepover ninyo. Of course it's a big deal!"

"It's her fault na naghubad siya. I didn't ask her to get naked in front of me. It was really hot and worth it."

"Do you like Christine or any of my cousins?"

"No. Bakit? Selos ka ba?"

"Meron na akong asawa." I shook my head that made him laugh.

Nakakanibago ang mukha niya. Bumalik ang totoong mukha niya the first time I saw him in campus. Nawala na talaga ang buhok niyang mahaba at lipstick niyang pula.

"Mahal mo ba si David?"

"N-no. Bakit mo naman na sabi yan?"

"I knew it."

"Know what? Well, whatever," I blew a long breath and marched to the door, "Uuwi na ako baka hinahanap na ako ng mga bata."

"You really love David's children huh?" I want Carla not Carl. Ang layo ng ugali niya ngayon sa ugali niya na nasanayan namin noon. "You treat them like your own."

"Carla nandiyan ka pa ba? I want the gay you."

"Yvonne di mo pa gets? Di nga ako bakla ,kakasabi ko lang." I was quiet and nodded. "Stay."

"Why should I do that?"

"Cause you're my friend."

Mahina akong tumawa at hinarap siya, "Friend? Well, FYI, Friends don't lie to each other. Nabilog mo yung utak namin, Carl."

"I'm sorry, Yvonne."

"Then tell me why? Why did you pretend to be gay?"

"I am not gay nor straight. Bisexual ako but I show and exaggerate a gay because I want to be close to her."

"Her? Sinong her?" He stared at me. "Tell me everything."

"The first time, I entered a school in my country. Everything is weird and I have no close friends. Ginamit lang ako ng mga boy classmates ko para makagain ng popularity sa girls dahil nga diba? May hitsura ako. I really thought that they would accept me for who I am if I told them that I was bisexual but no they didn't. Then the girls began to dislike me for lying that I was straight kaya ayun wala akong mga kaibigan until I met a group of girls in another school that became my friends. Ang akala talaga ng lahat na bakla na talaga ako dahil mas nakikihangout ako sa babae kesa sa mga lalaki. I forced myself to become a true gay but I just can't. I get interested to girls and guys, ang Trix is one of them. I met her through social media."

"ANO?!"

"Huwag kang OA. Di pa ako tapos."

"I thought you don't like any of my cousins."

"Because I love her." He smiled like an idiot and again, shook his head. "Hindi niya ako matatanggap sa ginawa kong pagsisinungaling sa kanya." His face darkened then he closed his eyes. "She's the reason why I came here. I exaggerated a gay character because she likes gay people and so that I can get close to her. I was really mad at Dash ng maging magkanobya sila, I really wanted to punch his face. And from the moment they broke up, I was happy but not clearly happy. Seeing Trix cry because she was pregnant was like the worst thing that ever happened to me."

"Carl..."

"I don't want to lie anymore but I need to."

"You don't need to lie for her to accept you. Just be true okay na yun." I smiled at him then he suddenly hugged me tight.

"Thank you for understanding. Pero hinihintay ko lang na manganak siya tapos sasabihin ko na bisexual ako at mahal ko siya."

"She'll react. You do know that girl right?"

"Sampal, patid, batok, kahit na anong matatanggap ko sa kanya. Basta sasabihin ko talaga ang lahat lahat sa kanya to clear my head. But I'll make the progress slowly, ayaw ko siyang gulatin."

"Then paano kung di ka niya matanggap."

He lowered his gaze into his hands and bitterly smiled, "I'll go home and I won't show up for a long period of time."

"O-okay." Tinginan ko sa labas ng bintana nagbabasakaling may tao pero bakit puro gubat ang nakikita ko? "Nasaan tayo?"

"Nasa bukid tayo."

"ANO?!"

"Don't over react, Yvonne. I brought you here because I want to tell you about me, the real me since nakita mo rin naman akong ganun ang attire ko." He said then went to his bedroom. "Dito ka muna sa kama matulog dito lang ako sa ibaba. Don't worry hindi kita mamanyakin."

"Okay." I rested on the big bed and closed my eyes.

I can't really believe that his been pretending for a long period of time. It's really a good acting from a really good actor. Mabigyan sana siya ng award sa kagalingan niya na maging bakla.

"Yvonne, Ba't ka nangagat?" Sabi niya at tinutukan ako ng masama

"Di ako nangangagat. Baka lamok lang yan."

"Then ano tong dugo?"

"Hindi ako ang kumagat."

"AHAS!"

"Carl, ang sakit mo nang magsalita."

"Hindi ayun oh may ahas sa ulo mo!!"

"AH!!!"

I screamed and moved away. What if the snake will bite me and I'll end up dead?! I can't die yet, hindi ko pa natapos ang 'Stranger Things' na series! Paano na to?!

"Hahahaha you're such a scaredy cat. I can't wait to tell Christine, Trix and Cherry about this."

"Di yon nakakatawa ha." I sighed ang looked at his shoulder. "M-may ahas huwag kang gumalaw."

"Copy cat much?Yvonne ang ahas di ako kakagatin ang gwapo ko kaya."

"Carl, huwag kang gumalaw hindi talaga ako nagjojoke." Kinuha ko ang isang stick at linayo ang ahas sa balikat niya. Lumaki ang mata niya ng makita ang ahas. "I'm not a liar like you." He didn't say anything and simply nodded. The snake went out the window and he automatically closed it.

"Matulog ka na ulit. Hindi na ako magjojoke pa, ayaw mo kasi sa sinungaling."

"Carl, it was only a joke."

"Yeah sure."
