Damon drove into Kenny's driveway and parked the car. "Let me at least walk you in," Damon asked, his eyes pleading.

"Fine," Kenny growled and crossed his arms, "but no funny business. At all."

Damon smirked and pushed open his door. This would be the time he would tell Kenny's father how it would be. This is when he would tell the preacher the ways he should behave with his children. Damon barely noticed he had already stepped so fast he was already at the door. Swiftly, Damon tapped on the door and Kenny was beside him when it opened.

"Kenny!" The lady growled and grabbed his shoulder, "I was worried sick about you!"

"I know," Kenny said softly and attempted a smile, "but it was raining and a friend of mine picked me up in his car and it was so late... I just didn't want to wake you up." Technically he had been out so late walking so he wouldn't have to come home to a drunk fight-happy father but, it was best to leave that part out.

"And you," the lady turned to look at Damon, "I'd take it you're the one who took my baby home and took care of him and these cuts." The woman ran her thumb over the cuts, still looking at Damon, "is there anything I can get you to say my thanks?"

Damon smiled, "a cup of tea and a conversation would be lovely, miss."

She nodded and ushered Kenny inside the home and invited Damon inside the home. "Kenny only has his older sisters for siblings," the woman said and set a cup of sweet tea in front of Damon. Not what he was expecting. "They are off at college now. They were only his half sisters."

"Ah," Damon said taking a drink of the sweet tea, "miss, there's an issue I'd like to discuss with you about Kenny.."

"Please call me Lisa." She said distress showing on her face, "is everything alright with my baby?"

"He seems to have trouble with his father..." Damon heard the door open. Who was here? Was Kenny leaving? "I just want him to be safe and I want to make sure he's okay here."

"How dare you?" Lisa snapped, her cherry red hair falling past her shoulders. Her blue eyes grew with fury, "how dare you disrespect my family."

"I'm not trying to disrespect you miss," Damon watched the ladies dress ruffle as she got more frustrated, "I only wish to see Kenny safe. And if he's safe here then so be it."

Before the conversation could continue, Kenny stumbled into the room holding his cheek. He looked at Damon pleading him to go. His mother sat there wondering what was going on now.

Then everything happened so fast.

The shadow fell over the living room. Kenny stumbled backwards with another strike and Damon was quick enough to catch him. Kenny grunted and ran his hand across his face. Damon pulled Kenny onto the couch and traded places with him. A punch came to his jaw, knocking him backwards. Damon growled and took another blow to his nose.

"James!" Lisa snapped and stood to her feet. "Don't you dare strike either of them one more time!"

The preacher looked at Damon and smiled. His hand wrapped around Damon's arm, squeezing. "You're the one who kissed my boy aren't you?"

"Kiss is an understatement," Damon smirked. He felt his heart grow with hatred.

"Come again?" Damon could feel where the preacher was squeezing begin to bruise.

"I fucked your boy," Damon mocked his heavy southern accent. Damon grunted in pain as he felt the slap collide with his face. "I fucked him to where the only word on his lips was my name!" Damon felt another punch to his jaw. If the preacher wouldn't have been holding him up, he would have been knocked on his ass.

Damon could feel his face starting to swell, "is that all you're going to do about it? Hit me? Believe me, I've had worse from my own relatives!"

James let go of Damon's arm and struck him so fiercely he couldn't keep his balance. Damon fell to the ground and hissed in pain.

Kenny fell on his knees and began checking out Damon's wounds. "Damon," Kenny growled, not approving on how Damon had taken care of the situation. "Now I have to find you cold to put on your face." Kenny sighed, "why do you have to be so difficult?"

Damon chuckled and sat up. He stood slowly and stared at the preacher. Damon locked eyes with Kenny's father, "never hit me again. Or you best be prepared for me to strike back."

Kenny's father frowned, "go home. I need to speak with my son."

"No you don't." Lisa snapped and stood up, "Kenny find a friend to stay with for the next few ," Lisa paused "your boyfriend would be fine. I'll just check up on you guys." Lisa sighed, "Kenny, me and your father need to have a talk."

"You didn't know?" Damon asked looking over Kenny's mother. She merely shook her head.

Damon wrapped his arms around Kenny, "call if you need the addresses."

Quickly, the two left and crawled in to Damon's car. There was a silence shared between the two as they drove back to Damon's home. Kenny stared foreword trying to focus on the road. Wishing he could have done something different. Damon rested one hand on Kenny's knee and drive again towards his home.
