Damon awoke before Kenny the next day and made his way towards his closet to grab his work clothes. He glanced at the clock and read the red numbers, 5:30am. Damon slowly slipped on his work shirts and dug quietly for his work pants. When he was back into the clothes he grabbed his leather jacket and put it over his shoulders. Swiftly, he glanced back at Kenny; he was still asleep on the bed, wrapped into the blankets like a poorly made burrito. Damon smiled to himself and grabbed his keys off the table. And slowly he made his way to work.

Damon got home around 10:30 to find Kenny dozed off on the couch. The apartment was quiet minus Kenny's light snoring and Damon walking in.

"Babe?" Kenny asked softly as he sat up. He rubbed his hand down his face trying to wake himself up, "please tell me that's you."

"It's me, Kenny." Damon said softly and sat down on the couch next to him. Kenny rested his head on Damon's shoulder and shut his eyes again. "Just go back to sleep, baby.."

"But I haven't seen you all day." Kenny said softly and buried his face in Damon's shirt, "I missed you.."

"I missed you too baby.." Damon muttered and set his beer on the side table next to them. "Come on let's get some rest."

---

Damon did the exact same routine for the next two days; He would walk through the door to find Kenny asleep on either the couch or in the bed and Damon would carry him to the bed if he wasn't already there. The two would fall asleep tangled in the others arms and Damon would leave before Kenny woke up in the morning. However, when Damon walked through the door on Thursday Kenny sitting there staring at his phone. He looked up when he heard the door open and close.

"Hey..." Kenny glanced at the clock, it was 11. "You seem to be getting home later every day.."

"There seems to be more cars every day," Damon yawned and hung his leather jacket on the coat rack placed conveniently by the door. "I'm gonna go to sleep."

Kenny stood up in Damon's way and crossed his arms, "not until we have an actual conversation. I've maybe seen you an hour all together over the past three days."

Damon sighed and ran a hand down his face, "I don't like it either, but-"

"No. Damon if you didn't like it you would have changed it by now." Kenny growled. "You would have talked to your boss and gotten more reasonable hours." A sigh left Kenny's lips as he shook his head. "I just don't get why you don't care enough."

Damon wrapped his arms around Kenny and held him close. "I do care... I'll talk to Bobby tomorrow if the line up isn't too bad." Softly, Damon kissed Kenny's shoulder and rubbed his hand up and down his back. "Okay? Can I go to sleep now?"

Kenny nodded and wrapped his arms tighter around his chest, "only if you promise you will ask Bobby about getting more reasonable hours tomorrow."

"Babe..." Damon yawned and removed his arms from around Kenny and leaned against the wall, "can we not do this right now? I'm too tired for this."

"When else are we going to do it?" Kenny snapped, his own tiredness making him angry.

"You have my word.." Damon said softly and kissed Kenny, "Okay?"

Kenny nodded slowly and rested his head against Damon. His eyes started to grow heavy with the sound of Damon's heartbeat in his ear. "Okay..."

"Let's get to bed." Damon said and kissed the top of Kenny's head.

---

Kenny awoke the next day rather late in the morning. It was ten and unsurprisingly, Damon was at work. Slowly, Kenny swung his legs over the side of the bed and slipped into a pair of jeans. If Damon wasn't going to be home while he was awake he might as well go see him while he was at work. Kenny grabbed Damon's old AC DC shirt and pulled it over his shoulders; the shirt was baggy on him but, he didn't mind. Swiftly, the short male grabbed his jacket and made his way to Damon's work.

The door bell rang making Damon didn't look out from the car he was working under. "Can I help you?"

Kenny watched for a minute, how fast Damon's hands were under the car. How his muscles flexed when he turned his attention back to something that demanded the physical labor. He was so focused. Never once did he even glance Kenny's way to see who it was.

"It's me," Kenny said softly, moving a little closer to the car.

Damon sighed, "sir if we are over the time for your car, we apologize." Damon sounded like he'd said those words a million times that day. "We will get your car to you as soon as possible. If you would just leave your name-"

"Damon," Kenny said softly, "it's Kenny."

Damon looked up at the sound of his name being said by this person. Kenny stood there, in his shirt and his ripped jeans. "Hey.." Damon said fighting his instinct to go back to working on the car. "What are you doing here?"

Kenny tried to smile, "I just came to see you when I wasn't half asleep, babe."

Damon looked around and saw Bobby starting to work on another car. "Why don't you just go home. I'll see you when I get there."

"But, babe..." Kenny protested and wrapped his arms around his waist.

"No but's." Damon said and slid back under the car, "I have too much work to do. I'll see you when I get home."

"O-Okay." Kenny choked out and made his way out of the body shop. He slowly walked wondering what he was going to do all day today. Only now he knew Damon really didn't want to see him.

"Wasn't that the preacher's boy ya been seein'?" Bobby asked wiping his hands down with the hand towel.

Damon ignored the question and went back to working on the car. He still had to find the right time to ask Bobby for more reasonable hours.
