Damon awoke, Kenny snoring in his arms and pressed against him. The soft rise and fall of Kenny's chest almost made Damon want to leave him be and never disturb him. He was so peaceful in his sleep. Kenny rolled over and placed his face against Damon's chest. His heart beat pounded in Kenny's ear and lightly lulled him awake. Slowly, he lifted his head and looked at Damon, his eyes still heavy with sleep.
"Good morning." Damon said softly and ran his hand through Kenny's hair, a smile spreading slowly across his lips.
"Mmm.." Kenny agreed softly and buried his face back against Damon's chest, listening to his lovers heartbeat. "How'd you sleep?"
"Better without having to wake and leave you alone." Damon leaned down and kissed Kenny's head, "I hate not being there when you wake up..."
Kenny yawned and nuzzled softly at Damon's chest, "why...?" Kenny's head swarmed with thoughts that came with being awake. Kenny stared at Damon's chest trying to calm his mind but found it wasn't working. The thoughts wouldn't stop coming. He found his mind even questioning why Damon hadn't just gone to work this morning. "After all.." Kenny muttered under his breath softly, "I am just a distraction.."
Damon tightened his arms around Kenny and sighed, "I didn't mean it like that.."
"But you still meant it," Kenny said back and rolled over, sitting up on the end of the bed. He ran his hand through his hair and down his face. With a sigh on his lips, Kenny went to stand, but found Damon's hand wrapped around his wrist.
Damon sat up and pulled Kenny back into his arms, "Baby-"
"You're still not denying it." Kenny cut him off, but didn't move from Damon's arms. Was he just a distraction to Damon? Something that just got in the way?
"No," Damon said softly and tried to smile. Maybe if he could make a joke out of it he could let it blow over, "I'm not denying it." Damon felt Kenny's shoulders tense as he placed his head on them. "You are a distraction," Damon's voice was soft and he slowly kissed Kenny's shoulder.
Kenny tried to shrug Damon off. "Because that's really helpful.." His voice thick with sarcasm, Kenny could almost taste it on his tongue.
"Well you are," Damon chuckled and tried to kiss Kenny, but he pulled away. Damon sighed and wrapped his arms around Kenny a little tighter. "You are a distraction to me," Damon put his head back on Kenny's shoulder, "I can't get you off my mind and that's bad when I'm trying to focus on what part of the engine I'm supposed to be working on," Damon heard Kenny's breath hitch as though he was laughing. "Besides an ass like yours..." Damon chuckled and kissed Kenny's shoulder and along his collarbone, slowly pulling him over, "so yes, you are a distraction."
Kenny's smile had placed itself involuntarily on his lips, "you're an ass." His voice became a laugh as Damon slowly crawled on top of him and kissed him slowly along his jaw.
"But I'm your ass.." Damon smiled and it only widened when he looked up, "if I'm your ass...does that make me sexy?"
"Oh my god!" Kenny laughed and pushed Damon off of him, "you're so stupid."
"That's why you love me, after all." Damon said in a sing-song voice and propped himself on his elbow.
Kenny rolled over and grabbed for the blanket, "I'm going back to bed if all you're going to do is just be mean to me."
Damon wrapped his arms around Kenny and yawned, "actually I was thinking about taking you to a place I used to go as a kid since I had today off." Softly, he danced his fingers on Kenny's arms, almost putting him to sleep, "what do you say? You up to it?"
"Yea," Kenny said softly and felt himself pressing against Damon, taking in his body heat. "I love you."
Damon smiled and kissed Kenny's cheek, "I'm going to get dressed and find where I threw my keys last night."
Kenny rolled over to face Damon, "not yet.." Kenny said softly and placed his head against Damon's chest. His heartbeat filled his ears and the steady pace of Damon's breathing began to calm his thoughts. He felt Damon's fingers start to run through his hair and his other hand placed on his lower back.
"You okay, baby?" Damon's voice was soft in Kenny's ears. Simply, Kenny nodded and pressed his face closer against Damon's chest. "Okay.." Damon said softly and kissed the top of Kenny's head.
"I love you." Kenny said softly.
"I love you too," Damon said into Kenny's hair and squeezed Kenny in a hug.
--
Damon was dressed in his grey t-shirt and blue jeans, with his leather jacket clinging to his shoulders and muscles. Kenny was dressed in a plaid button up and his black jeans. The sun was high and bright in the sky making Kenny question how late they had slept in after initially awaking in their bed. Their feet trudged past all the greenery on the ground and passed the trees all within the forest. Only then did Kenny truly realize, he honestly didn't know where Damon was taking him this deep in the forest."Don't worry," Damon said calmly as he pushed past the grass that was too tall, and wrapped around his ankles, "it's right around here."
"This is how horror movies start out," Kenny joked as he followed close behind Damon, "you don't plan to kill me do you?"
"Not any time soon," Damon laughed looking over his shoulder. "Here it is.."
Kenny glanced up from looking at his feet to make sure he was placing his feet in places where he wouldn't trip. The scent of moss and crisp air filled his nose. A sun shined brightly, breaking past the trees that were clung so close together blocking nearly everything from the outside world. Birds chirped their songs of happiness and frogs and crickets alike filled any possibility of silence. There was a river that glistened in the sunlight persisting through the trees and Kenny thought, among all the rocks placed within the rushing stream, he saw a fish jump in the air before it went back to swimming under the water. The rocks that were on the shore crunched against Kenny's feet as he walked closer to the river admiring the beauty of it all.
"Gorgeous, isn't it?" Damon asked walking up behind Kenny and wrapping his arms around his waist. A heavy breath fell past Damon's lips as he sighed and rested his chin on Kenny's shoulder.
"Very," Kenny smiled and placed his arms on Damon's, running his fingers along his lovers forearms. "How'd you even find this place?"
Damon smiled and swayed his hips slowly, "I found it when I was younger." A smile spread across Damon's lips softly as he grabbed one of Kenny's hands and spun him, pulling the two of them into a dance.
Kenny laughed softly, but danced with Damon around the trees and rocks and moss. It all seemed perfect. Damon spinning Kenny through the grass and catching him hen he got dizzy. Kenny laughing in Damon's arms as the world spun under his feet. Even when Damon dipped Kenny down, his head inches from the moss covered rocks before pulling him back up again. It was all so perfect.
